Does your MINI have a name?
My old MINI was The Short Bus. I actually felt like quite a genius for coming up with it. I was driving to work, and spotted a bus. It was yellow, with an emergency exit on the top and back, and the front of it reminded me of the mini.
That's how the mini became a shorter version of that bus, or The Short Bus.
My new one needs a name. It took me many months to name the first one, but I don't want to wait that long this time!

I named mine Dr. Horrible. After the best 45 minute web-series ever made!

Okay, another Whedon reference: "I call it Vera."
It's a very British name to begin with, as in the singer Vera Lynn from WWII -- "There'll Be Blue Birds Over the White Cliffs of Dover" and "We'll Meet Again" (the latter forever associated with the end of Dr. Strangelove
). There's also the line from the Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four" about grandchildren named Vera, Chuck, and Dave. But "Firefly" had a baaad Vera -- and my Clubbie, in her own way, is quite the bad girl.

I just placed my order last week, but I've had the name for months now...after trials and tribulations deciding on the perfect name, I came up with....3 of them!
His first name is Ianto (pronounced "yanto", yes, like Tonto...) after a character on the BBC show Torchwood (ok, so I wanted something British-y)....
His middle name had to be a Transformers-like name, so I came up with Tidbit! (It was his first name for a while, but Ianto won out)...
And my other half decided he needed a confirmation name (although neither of us are remotely religious), so the "third" name is Colossus!
My current car is named "Helo", after a character on Battlestar Galactica, and my previous car to that was named "Weaver", because he would weave in and out of traffic. I've always named my cars, and tried to come up with a name to fit their personality and/or demeanor. And after 18 cars, I'm running out of names!

Ruby
Hiya!
I just picked up my first Mini two weeks ago and I love it! Just joined this community yesterday. I landed a nice second-hand chili red '06 R50. (at my wife's insistence I did name her...)
Being that she's red and small and kind of Hobbit-like, I christened her Ruby Littlefoot (Ruby for short). A nice-sounding hobbit name, with good British roots.
...She's otherwise known as my 'halfling' car!
Regards,
JimBob

Maybe if baby had a name earlier, it wouldn't have turned to a life of delinquency.
I get the feeling you're not a happy camper, but if calling your MINI SNC gets you closure - great!
