I got them from Aesthetic Creations (AC) - they're one of the listed vendors on this site. Never met them in person, but lots of email traffic -- NICE people. And they have really good stuff, too. I went a little cheesy and bought a flame decal for the front wing emblem, and AC is just very detail oriented: they had a cutout of the center emblem, so it fits in tight. Nice. They also have roof graphics, and just cool stuff in general.

I didn't buy a kit. I bought some vinyl off of ebay. It was about $18 shipped and there' enough ther to decrome the whole car. It's not too bad you just have to warm the vinyl and pul it tight across the pieces. I finished the headlight rings, and I'm getting ready to start on the grill. I'll take some shots and post them as I go along.

hi all
i went with a black vinyl tape from Pep Boys, seemed a little better that elec tape. DId the grill on my MINI. $7 a roll. let it warm up and use a little strech and it worked fine. I imagine a black out kit would have all sizes for headlite trims etc, but this worked fine for just the grill,

As the parent of two, brilliant tikes, agree that it must be the BRG because I certainly cannot claim any credit!

It took more than five years of driving my 2003 BRG/W MCS to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop and join this thread ("Howdy!"). Have to agree that BRG's the classiest (at least when washed and waxed regularly), but those white wheels are a major pain to maintain.

Hear Hear. I just bought a kind of rim wax from Mini Mania (I think -- I love buying all things Mini I forget...) that I'm going to try out first chance the weather stops teasing and I can wash the BRG object of my affection. Supposedly, it stops the break dust from settling in and staining so much. That's the worst part about my poor car...although I probably wouldn't trade the white rims anyway! If the rim wax works, I'll let ya know.

I looked at using the blackout tape from the P Boys but it seemed like I would have to use two rows on each bar and I wondered about the seam. How'd you do it?

I am contemplating the possibility of Bonnet/Boot stripes. I am BRG/BRG. I don't want your typical stripes (black or white), but thinking maybe carbon weave or something a bit more subdue. Opinions?

As you've done the right thing in picking the classy and elegant BRG/BRG I wouldn't want to spoil the effect with stripes.

I think carbon will look cool, I want to do the viper stripes all the way down to the bumpers, I think I saw some silver or gray strips on a BRG and it looked great

Gray Stripes or Grey Stripes. As a suggestion.

Kimberely - check out the thread "Post Pics of your R56"...although not all are BRG, there are some really outstanding photos of stripes there. Good luck - but for the record, I vote for white stripes, either viper or regular! But I guess I'm a stick in the mud.

Good luck!

I didn't want the standard stuff either so I got swatches of color vinyl and laid them on the bonnet and the gold just POPPED out. It looks very classy on BRG. I have stripes on the boot as well and did the grill too. Not super expensive and any good vinyl guy can do it.

Kimberley,
You did pick classy BRG/BRG ( i am BRG/WHITE, )
so i think the Gold would be awesome, either centered or left justify.
I also saw a BRG/BRG at the dragon with yellow stripes, cool.
I think IsaMINI has a great idea, get swatches and lay them out and see what jumps out at ya,
Post pics when you've done it...

If it helps, I've seen (on OutMotoring? MiniMania?) MAGNETIC bonnet stripes -- so you can change them out! Maybe you could do that and change up the colors and the variety of stripes. But they're right -- do the swatch thing; it always helps when picking out room paint or couch colors, etc. Good luck!

Color shifting (unfortunately the green is showing up more than the other colors in these pics) stripes, they range from a green that matches the BRG, different shades of green, up to purple. They go from front spoiler, top of car, wing, and down the boot and bumper. Also with trim brite backout tape on front grill.

Thanks, My uncle owns a signshop, we went through countless ideas, from paint, glow in the dark, even a paint thats like the 80s version of the bodyglove heat reacting material. I wanted something that didnt stand out much unless you looked close, which it does.. except under direct sunlight. Theyre several different colors to choose from in vinyl.
Thanks! Thats Giz, she rarely has here tongue in her mouth, benefit of a full size tongue in a compact face!

Congrats on your excellent choice of Mini and color!!

Try these threads for names (there are SOOOO many good ones, it's hard to list!)

And of course, you need...(insert drum roll please...) Vanity Plates! Again, so many good ones on these threads (some duplicates in both names and plates of course), it's too hard to list separately.

Per the definition that I got - gray is a color, and grey is a colour.
