Good one, jupiterfish! - I never thought of that one.

"CLUBMAN" was taken (CA), so I broke down and just ordered "CLUBBIE" last week (what else?).

Donna/Mike,

They told me CA is currently taking 4 months! (yours is a great one too)

Cheers,

Massachusetts is a 2 plate state currently. I think I found the perfect new plate for my Clubman, that is supposed to be finished May 1st (Thursday)

* What do you think of this plate? http://www.mass.gov/rmv/express/miniFenway.htm

My new Clubman is at the dealer and should be delivered to me tomorrow. I ordered a personal plate a month ago. It is: TZA MINI

By the way, I haven't received the plate yet.

I was kinda mad: I had been planning for YEARS to get the plate "MINIAAC" from Ohio, but they wouldn't permit it...they said it was too much like maniac (duh), and was indicative of mental disturbance. Really? Neverrrr.....

Bernard - so yours is a Fenway Park plate - that's pretty nice!

x uh oh x - that is just absolutely perfect that Ohio said that. Well, I do feel for you, but their comments are quite funny, though I'm sure they were very serious.

Never had a custom plate myself but I do enjoy reading everyone's on this thread - and those on the road.

actually it's a mini-Fenway Park plate
-------------
*from http://www.mass.gov/rmv/express/miniFenway.htm:
The plate features an image of Fenway Park. The bottom of the plate features the words "mini FENWAY PARK in green."
The proceeds will go to fund a mini Fenway ball Park for Kids. Mini-Fenway Park, a half-sized replica of Boston's fabled ballpark, will soon become a reality. Providing top-quality baseball, softball, and tee ball programs for children ages 4 to 17

*just figured out how to add an image

Since Massachusetts requires 2 plates now, I think that this will fit the bill. . .

It's RED SOX related and it's "mini" {like killing two birds with one stone}

Not to be ditzy, but "2 plate" rule? I'm military, and since we get SUCH good deals from Ohio because of it. If you're military, and claim OH, but you don't physically live there, you get your taxes back and a really good deal on license plates...and oh by the way, don't have to pay taxes on new veh registered there!! But I highly suspect they're just using me as an Ohio propaganda and advertising tool! Whatever...it works! I am constantly amazed at how many Ohio-ans are out there...but the funny thing is...most of us aren't living in Ohio!

I'm in VA now, and I used to think OH was the largest vanity-plate state. BOY was I WRONG! VA has us beat hands DOWN! I love trying to figure them out...brain teasers.

Long story short, I've always had Ohio plates - two plates...you ARE referring to a front and a back? I thought MA always had two plates?

MA changed to a two plate state a few years back. It has me thinking about whether I should get vanity plates for my mini...

I'm still trying to decide if I should get a custom plate or not. The only thing I've come up with that's available is MC SALLY. But someone pointed out that can be read McSally. Which isn't exactly what I'm going for...

One of the deciding factors for me in getting vanity plates was how much they cost. They're not "cheap" exactly (but what IS these days??) but depending on the state, they can be pretty high.

Robin81, how about just SALLY?

Some of the other plates I considered were:

* MINIAAC -- which, as you can read, OH wouldn't let me get, although I've seen something like it in VA so it's not a completely restricted thing
* WHRSTHKY -- as in "Where's the [windup] key?"
* WNDUPTOY -- Wind Up Toy
* CTSMEOW -- Cat's Meow
* BEZNEEZ -- Bee's Knees
* CMEGO -- See Me Go
* ZIPEEEE -- !

I didn't really put any thought into the vanity plate thing...
