Looking for a JCW PRO REAR DIFFUSER PDC 51192339046. Doesn't appear to be in stock anywhere. If you folks know of any dealer/shop etc (preferably in USA) that has one please let me know. I'll start calling around next week.
Thanks
These were blocked by MINI, I am checking to see whats going on because they were NLA as they were out of stock and set nla in the system. No dealership in the USA can order them, you got lucky they had them on shelf.
@MikeMJCW, I’ve read on other forums about the glue not adhering properly or the diffuser shifts and will sag
Maybe they aren’t using Betalink adhesive and taping it into place for a few hours after but who knows…We used 3M adhesive so it can be taken off if needed and after multiple washes and one winter it hasn’t moved Looking forward to seeing it painted and installed on your MINI.Rich
Thanks Rich,
Saw on the F56 forum a BMW dealer (England) used white glue, then proceeded to scratch the guy's car up. I got the Betalink from ECS, local dealer said he could only order during a chemical order?
Got a pick of your car's diffuser?
Pic is dry fitted. Thunder grey insets, gloss black band (to match roof and side pillars). I asked the body shop guys for advice, not my thing. Love the color combo, the diffuser itself isn't 100% i.e. a bit after thought-y, Whenever you see glue or Loctite 9 times out of 10 the engineers goofed something. Speaking of goofed- if you forget to hook up the back up sensors (or need to replace the fog bulbs) simply remove rear wheels and unfasten the wheel arch liners. This gives access to rear mounted fog light housing bolts. Added a before pic, not using splash guards as the Hankooks don't pick up crap.
Off topic, what brand race ramps are those? I was looking for a set and have been overwhelmed with brands and reviews.
Rhino ramps 11909. I paid $50 with a coupon a few years ago at Advance Auto. I built the extension (bolt hole in the Rhino logo) for an Alfa Giulia I had. My mini was originally dropped 10mm but has probably settled a bit and it does scrap the front a little bit without the extension. The diffuser had cured but this afternoon I parked the rear facing the sun and I saw the diffuser pull away and the glue had softened. So much for $60 Betalink. What 3M did you use?
For best adhesion use an alcohol wipe and clean the inside lip of the rear diffuser and the top of the brackets that were installed into the rear bumper.
Place the 3M on the top area of the brackets (10) going down the entire length.
