For real?
Wow!
You've done so much good work to that car.
One of my favorite R53's that I've ever seen.
Such a nice solid ride done up to near perfection.
Thank you! It has been a labor of love. I just added the Rennline door pulls and pedals, I also added the Napa grade leather with deviated stitching on the down tubes, center console, ebrake and shifter..
Oh also has a Wavetrac in it.
So muchlove but I just don't have time to drive it

Maybe it's here somewhere but I can't find it. Am looking for Mini #3 but Used this time instead of New. Is there a "decoder" here that shows how the car was equipped from the factory?
Non-Mini dealers can usually provide a Carfax report, which is somewhat helpful, but they don't seem to know exactly what options a specific car came with. Thanks.

Was at MINI of Madison (WI) today. They have a very nice, low mileage 2002 Cooper S. At almost $17.5K, it should be nice.

^^^ Just now viewed that dealer ad as well as embedded Carfax report, which indicates 4 prior owners but regular service performed since new and no accidents "reported". Also checked VIN decoder, which confirms a moderately factory optioned 2002 MCS. IMO, $17.5 asking still would appeal as negotiation starting point for verified 17.4K miles if I was near there and seriously looking. Unless looking for a project car with lots of $$ and hours subsequently "invested", I'd rather start with one in stated "superb condition" and start enjoying it immediately. Yes, you can "restore" but that's not nearly the same as being in near-new overall condition from the get-go.
If someone on NAM buys it, hoping they'll check back into the 1st Gen hatch subforum and update us...

Yeah, I like the wheel design well enough but wouldn't go with black. Silver or possibly titanium/anthracite.
BTW, the dealer had only one new car on the lot. There was very little activity while I was there.

Perhaps bad etiquette on my part for posting a live auction,
but just saw this rare bird:

Might consider it if I was at the end of restomodding and wanted a nice final finishing touch, but I have a long way to go until I get my ride up to desired personal spec so it's easy for me to let stuff like this go because the budget can be spent better elsewhere at the time being.
Still though,
quite astounding what these rare-ish mk1 JCW bits are fetching these days.
Sold yesterday on uk ebay for $335 with 8 bids was this handbrake cover:

On the 17th this valve cover plaque got $85 with 10 bids:

There's a thread, if you're interested: dmath's resto thread
Yup I definitely have been checking in on that one, I just get mixed up on whose is car is whose. Your doing a great job and giving that little guy the attention it deserves, Elvis would be proud lol, I remember the original thread.
Black and red were probably the most common stitching colors, but they also were available with blue, white, gray, green, yellow, brown or beige stitching.
Low price of $5,000 because clutch is shot.
This is a bargain because it looks very very clean.
Wish it had some engine bay shots.

And to add,
here's a pic that I saw a while back and was totally in love with the bronze wheels on Chili Red...
