To avoid confusion the car and engine are as Homologated and is Homologated BY the FFSA in catagory F2000 and is French Logbooked
The car was built by John Cooper Motorsport specifically for climbing for me in December 2003. It was very successful and it produced 240 horsepower (cooper S Works supercharged). I then started the hill climb demonstration in France because I could not race because the car was not homologated to race in France in the Championat de France. So I had to build a naturally aspirated engine to comply with F2000 regulations.

This one threw me for a loop just because the condition was beyond tatty and will require major flush of $$$ to sort it out...
...but,
I'm not too familiar with the mythic lore of classic Mini either --- apparently the 1071 was a shortlived model and they only made around 4,000 of them.
Hardcore collectors will always go the extra mile for a rare variant, eh?
Man, I'd love to pick up a classic Mini, but not at those prices!

I watched that BaT auction to completion and was surprised the final winning bid was that high for level of rust. So stated, bound for NZ thus RHD being an important factor. A notable comment posted prior to close of auction was this one: "wow.. i threw a better one in a dumpster in 2007. Good project!"
But hey, I do still have my pristine brochure which cost nada when these were new "back in the day" framed and hanging in my garage...
random Japanese browse found this lime green R53 --- I've seen a few wrapped this color and I think it looks good!
Signal Green is a great color on a 1st gen and this one reminds me of Tweedbeans R53. Lambo’s Verde Ithaca also looks good on an R53 and the following link has pics of R53’s in both colors along side their original counterparts: https://www.zerotohundred.com/forums...gt3-rs.393685/

Up for sale is my 2006 Mini Cooper JCW. I am selling a Mini Cooper with a bad engine or for parts but selling as a whole, not willing to separate it for parts. I originally bought the Mini Cooper as a project car but lost interest in building/replacing the motor. If you are interested in parts, you must buy the whole car. The Mini Cooper has a bad motor and I believe it has bad rods or pistons. The Mini Cooper runs and drives but sounds horrible at idle. The car must be towed.
Summary Spec:
- John Cooper Works model - Nevada Salvage title (vandalism) - 6spd manual - 115k miles
If interested or have questions, please contact me Dan 425-220-169 nine. The Mini Cooper can also be registered if you are looking to replace the engine. It does have to be inspected by WA State Patrol since it has a salvage title if you decide to register the vehicle.
Neat to see the MOT paper as I haven't ever seen one and had never thought to look, so that's mildly interesting.
Car has had a hard life to be under 100k miles!
The sellers adcopy:
MINI COOPER S R53 SPARES OR REPAIR,
MOT FAILURE, CAR CAME IN AFTER BEING OFF ROAD SORN FOR 2 YEARS, THE DRIVERS DOOR GLASS WAS BROKEN TO GAIN ACCESS DUE TO FLAT BATTERY, THE ROOF LINING HAS STARTED TO SAG AND HAS MOULD MARKS THROUGHOUT, BUT THE GOOD POINTS ARE ITS THE SUPERCHARGED ENGINE WHICH STARTS AND RUNS WELL, THE REST OF THE INTERIOR IS REASONABLY CLEAN AND LEATHER AND THE WHEELS ARE IN REASONABLE REFURBABLE CONTDITION, IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS SOME COOPER WORKS TRIM FITTED, THE MOT FAILURE IS AS PER THE PHOTO, THERE MAY OR MAY NOT BE OTHER ISSUES(THE OWNER DROVE IT TO US AND HAS DECIDED NOT TO REPAIR IT)
THE NUMBER PLATE COMES WITH IT WHICH COULD SELL FOR AROUND £700
IT SCRAPS FOR £320 LOCALLY SO THATS THE STARTING BID.
THE V5 IS WITH US AND WILL NEED TO BE FILLED IN PRIOR TO LEAVING.
IT DOES DRIVE BUT AS ITS FAILED ITS MOT I WOULD SUGGEST RECOVERY.

I like the window wind deflectors, but have never seen any for R53 that I like, these look decent the way it's all painted up with matching trim (even the wiper arms!)
wet droplets come in like crazy if window cracked when raining and irk me
