I'd say it's a good deal, in 'driver condition' so will need some cosmetic attention, but otherwise given how crazy the market is right now it looks like a bit of a bargain to me?
I always try to look up GP's since they're numbered and sometimes you'll get some hits, like this GP was formerly owned by NAM'r @djtiti in Texas:
He sold it in 2014 at 66,800 miles for $15,500 -

.
Did my PhD in CA. Miss it nearly every day. Everywhere has their problems, but the pluses way outweigh the minuses, IMO, with CA. Desert, ocean, mountains... all so close by. Anza, DV, Big Bear. Ethnic food, fantastic Mex, Rubios... Long Beach flea market... Palm Springs. Met my wife in PS. Neat place. Miss the Mojave and old 66 - Wonder Valley. Astonishingly beautiful and nearly empty at the same time. My favorite nat'l park - Josh.
All that said, my Mini would need too much work to reg and smog in CA now - unless I registered it in SD. Damn, do I miss SoCal.

Well, nearly. Not me but my best buddy was 2nd highest bidder until tapping out. He set a max bid limit, exceeded that and then stopped, since the car would have been $32k with C&B's 4.5% commission, cost for us to go get it plus a set of premium replacement tires, etc. When I got the C&B email alert 7 days prior, I forwarded that to him and we discussed strategy. As figured, C&B was/is a lousy auction venue for cars like that with much less viewing exposure than BaT. Spencer from Geneva bid $20k early-on and we figured that was close to his limit with need to factor transport cost plus overhead before re-listing on BaT with profit margin after final sale. Just as my buddy did, bidders came out of stealth mode in final minutes and drove the price up. Would it have gone higher yet if on BaT? Who knows but I think so. Disappointed not to be planning a trip to SoCal (my former home turf just over the hill from seller's location), however wishing good times for the successful bidder and hoping we'll hear from him/her...

GP 1301
41,500 miles
$32,500
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ws...476418928.html
Ad copy:
MINI produced 2,000 first-gen Cooper S JCW (John Cooper Works) GP limited editions and this is #1013, one of just 415 delivered to the States.
$9k+ of service receipts over the last 18 months. $4,300 service just completed at Schneider Autohaus in Santa Barbara to ensure everything’s fully sorted – the car’s turnkey mechanically. Tires have less than 3k miles on them. No accidents, no dents, hood and bumpers have been repainted due to rock chips, but otherwise original paint. Noticeable imperfections include a touched up paint chip on the roof, a chip/scratch on the DS silver plastic accent insert, scuffing on the plastic front valance, some rippling in the rear hatch window tint and some road rash on DS front and PS rear wheels (detail photos in album at below link).
Full online photo-album can be found here:

CarFax is clean and shows five prior owners, but it’s really more like three: between 2012 and 2022 it was registered to a father, two of his businesses, and ultimately his son in the Bay Area (who I bought it from). The original owner was one of the father’s business partners. Currently titled in MT, no liens.
The only modifications are a cool Sony touch-screen unit (with Apple CarPlay and a back-up camera) integrated into the center console, as well as some respected tuner modification (M7 Tuning). While this is unsubstantiated, it supposedly has somewhere around 235hp (with 0-60 in the mid to low 5s), but MINIs have always been all about handling, and the first-gen GP pulls 0.90 g on the skid pad.
It’s a punchy little bastard on the road – supercharger whining, tires chirping, dual exhaust popping on downshift deceleration – and it constantly wants to be pushed harder, more than just about any car I’ve driven. It’s probably the worst possible first car for a teenager, and that’s exactly why I bought it – the new MINI first came out while I was in high school, I loved BMW’s genius reinterpretation, and the GP is its zenith. If you want to experience teenage irresponsibility at an amply responsible price-point, this GP is as sure to slap a grin on your face as it is to continue appreciating.
Feel free to email with questions or to set up a time to come and see it. Located in Santa Barbara. Thanks for your interest.

Those old school euro floor matts with the center gear design.

I listed my '08 JCW sidewalk on Bring a Trailer. If the winning bidder identifies themselves as a NAM'er I will happily pass on a few goodies that I have stored in my garage over the years for a MINIAC.
Good luck looks like only a GP3 on there at this time.

With this topic nearly 2 months since the last post, figured I'd link one spotted randomly while perusing YouTube videos on my TV. This one listed 2 days ago is at an independent retailer in VA looks good with relatively low miles, seemingly fair asking price plus (2) owners with clean CarFAX since new.
