PPI near Brandon, FL?

I'm going to look at an '06 MCS next weekend on a dealer's lot. They say the car has been inspected for general things, but I don't believe it was a MINI dealer or ind. mechanic.

I'd feel a lot better about having a pre-purchase done by someone that knows MINIs. I posted this on Sunshine MINIs too but wanted to get all the feedback I can.

Thanx!

Check out the Florida section of this link and you will find that the Tampa area has numerous independent MINI shops that might help your search for a PPI. Good luck.

Thanx a lot for the link! I see three shops nearby where I could get the PPI done. Can't wait to see the car & take 'er for a spin.

Buzzsaw, thanks for the link. The information was very helpful. I can't be the only one wishing there was a reputable shop in our area, other than the Mini dealership.

Hi David-

I'm not sure which side of the bay you're on, but if you're on the Pinellas side, another local MINI shop to check out is D'Elegance Auto/MINI Werks. http://www.delegance-autosports.com/ They came very highly recommended from many members of the Bay Area chapter of Sunshine MINIs.

I had my PPI done at European Autohaus in Lutz & was quite happy w/their services. I'm taking my new '06 R53 to MINI Werks (hopefully Monday) to have a few issues corrected that were found during the PPI.

I too am happy that there are some other options for us other than Ferman. Not to knock them, just trying to avoid paying dealer prices, and helpin' the littler guys out.

fridayxiii,

Thanks for the additional info. I saw another recommendation for them on the Sunshine Mini club site. I'm on the eastern side of I-75. It's a solid hour drive to the Mini dealer in Largo.

I just posted on another thread, about a dealership opening in Wesley Chapel next year! Here is the link, in case you are interested

Yep, I saw Amy's reply to your post & confirmation of the new dealership coming next year. That's great news, and a facility I'll be happy to check out.

Looks like there are three or four shops in Hillsborough, so hopefully one of them will be able to take care of you til the WC store opens.

Are you going to the Guy Fawkes bonfire on 11/5? I'm going to try & make it - looks like some other SSM members might be going too. Can't wait to join the local krewe & get active.
