General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
Replaced on hers (PW R53): Rear right sidemarker light housing (cracked light mounting part), rubber fuel filler tube (was all dryrotted and I think may have been responsible for a leak in the fuel recovery system code - fingers crossed), and the lower engine mount (3 webs on the larger rubber end were completely detached.).
Pulled the rear brake lines from the parts car. Found out that apparently Mini used seam welded exhaust tubing, as this exhaust split open along pretty much the entire length!
Have to use the Meguiar’s once a year. The 1st time took awhile but the last few it was just simple refresh. Order a set of Laminate-X with yellow fogs. Pics anyone?
Whenever I wax my cars, I apply a good coat to the headlights, too. Never had an issue with yellowing lenses. If its good enough for your paint, it is more than likely good enough for your headlights, too. I've had multiple cars that never parked in a garage that never had yellowing headlights lenses. The only car that ever had issues was purchased used with high mileage, and was slightly neglected when I bought it.

I started waxing my lenses, too. Same theory, if it's clear protection for my paint, it should work the same on my lights.

Ha ha just for fun was was going to compliment again like in the other forum. But I have a different name here so wouldn't have been as funny. Lol. They still look good.

Reason: Grammar
R60s All4 paid me a visit today, new power stop z23 brake kit, tire rotation, and oil change. She should be all prepared for Mssd, a quick check of tires and oil before she leaves that’s it.
I ordered the rear carrier to add a bike rack to my F56. I should have done this when I got the car. The price of the carrier has gone up $36 since April. Inflation I guess

They make a UV clear coat !
Be sure to use it...and follow directions exactly as written.
Makes all the difference and will keep them from returning back to yellow in 30 days.

IMO More likely price increase due to supply chain issues from COVID. Fewer parts are available to build fewer products therefore need to make more money on each sale.
I got a 2014 Countryman a couple of years ago.. Ordered mat for the back from Weathertech, but I didn't realize that the mat was to be used with the level cargo floor (which my car doesn't have). And as you know, it's expensive and a pain to install that after the fact. After some thinking, I came up with a solution. I made some measurements and made my own level cargo floor. I had a sheet of 1/2" plywood and with a little trimming, VIOLA, a level cargo floor. Now the Weatherteck mat works. I put a coat of paint on it, haven't taken a photo of that yet. When the wife took it to the dealer the other day for service, the techs said that it looked better than the factory floor. I think I did a pretty good job.
I can't wait. Loading her on a trailer Thursday night then a 13 hour slog North on Friday. Trying to make the opening thing at 430.
if you make the opener, won’t be able to miss this clubby, it will be one of the only ones there. There will be a Black R60s All4 next to me and my spoiled *** dog will be hitting you all with those sad eyes.
why wouldn’t they be 😁 all you have to do is tell them when renting cabin. Mine will be in cabin Saturday, he doesn’t need 8 hours of getting tossed around again. He actually comes with me 90% of the time I go down there, he gets comfortable in the back.
Yesterday I replaced the rusty rear brake lines, installed the header, and replaced the coolant expansion tank. Today I bled the brakes and started building the exhaust. These buggers are complicated when it comes to building an exhaust! I haven't fought this hard with one in a long time.
Fixed some rattles, buzzes, and creaks by: Pushing silicone chair foot thing in between these two panels. Getting door lock cable tips out and thickening them a bit with electrical tape. Sticking a velcro tape here.
