Make that boost more boosty

New diverter valve to make my boost more boosty. When I noticed that the boost wasn't quite hitting the target, I did a few days worth of troubleshooting and second guessing everything I know about life. When I reached out to my tuner, he came in clutch with a solution. Mario suggested that it may be the diverter valve and sent me a new one that he had sitting on his shelf. He is a really stand up guy, if you have a MINI, Mario Palza (MarioKart) is your man.

Changed out the OEM down pipe for a Milltek Catless DP. Much less restrictive and sounds awesome.

Had a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 3 tires installed today. Also needed some minor tweaking on the alignment after installing the new coil overs earlier this week. Love the tires, and the suspension. Car just keeps getting better and better.

Rear seat delete... good for expanding baggage toting capacity.

Still think your town's name should be tweaked to Mini-apolis. Sounds better!

I used a dremel to cut out more of the honeycombs in the hood scoop. It's quite literally a bit rough around the edges, but it's good enough! Note that I only cut out half a dozen more, since I'm a bit paranoid about the hood scoop not getting proper support.

I was going to do that and got as far as removing the false grill in the hood scoop. Looking at the scoop without the grill in it, I thought that it looked good!

The grill has been out of my MINI's hood scoop for about six years and the rest of the hood scoop is just fine. I was worried about getting bugs and dirt all over the engine with the grill out, but that hasn't been the case.

In that case, I might as well go and cut out the rest of them. Thanks for the info!
Oddly, it came from the factory with half of them open; don't know why they didn't just cut out the rest...

Replaced the hatch handle with one from a salvage yard. Now the release switch and license plate lights work. Yea!

Nice that we have vendors that will do that for the MINI community.

Hey, can you give us any more info about the BOV? What brand or who makes it? What did it do for your car? Any idea were to get info about it?

ESC is where i got mine, per my understanding it is the new design OEM part from MINI...but man my car is so much faster since the boost is perfect, your turbo will spool faster and wont give up.

Replaced old noisy exhaust

Replaced the old cheap exhaust that the previous owner installed.
Installed a stock front section of a R53 with a JCW rear section. So no resonator. Finished with some carbon fiber tips. Sounds much better! I don't have to worry about scaring the kids in the neighborhood any more

Now I just need to replace the boot hatch to get rid of those rust stains on the bumper

Looks great, what did those tips set you back?
No need to replace the bumper get some 800g first then1500g sand paper and then 2500g and some elbow grease get your pzint coad and spray it with color match can, using the 2x clear coat, then buff with good compound and then finish it with polish. Total $40.

Thanks
The bumper just has surface stains, but as long as what the hatch is rusting away, those stains will come back, hence I am replacing hatch panel. But thanks for the tip!

They were not that badly priced, came from the far east, will see how they hold up
