I also wanted to rotate my tires, but it's a) way too hot/humid today and b) I'm not sure the best way to get it up on ramps.
Get the aluminum floor jack from Harbor Freight. You can jack up one side of the car at a time (both wheels off the ground) and move the front to the rear and vice versa. Loosen the wheel bolts slightly while the wheels are still on the ground. No need for ramps; just don’t crawl under the car without jack stands of some sort.

Sorry, I mean jack stands. Typo =P
So where you do place the jack? Is it safe to place it in the middle of the car to get that type of lift? The way the underside of the car is weird and I don't want to damage either those plastic things (which the jack should go on?) or the oddly shaped underside.
Are there jack points on the underside near the middle like other cars?
The front jack point is close to the middle of the car (just forward of the middle). If you jack on that point both wheels on that side of the car will come off the ground. I would not jack on any other parts of the car, although I do know of a few other spots that can be used depending on the trim pieces on the car.
I am going to buy a 6 ' piece of 4x4 lumber and cut it to fit the lift points on my R53.
That way I can lift the Mini from the real center of the car.
I will post photos once I try it out !
That is a bit of overkill. I use a 2x4 that is about 2 feet long, you can make it to fit in between your Jack points if you want, this was scrap I had laying around. I just changed my oil yesterday using this to get it up on jack stands, I am really seriously thinking of just jacking the driver side front wheel next time, and see if I can do my oil that way.

got to use what you have sir. Wife bought this 3 ton set with 8 wheel creeper for me years ago. With the new oil pan I just picked up, I’m thinking I can jack up the driver’s front side, then pull bar off of the jack, still place a jack stand under there for safety still. Then drain oil and replace drain plug, then drop her for the rest of it. Ramps would be way easier yes but who wants to hear their wife nag? “Why do you need that?” In husband/wife’s best nagging voice should be running through everyone head right about now.

Never get under a car if not on jack stands....lol.
If you just jack up the MINI from the FRONT jack pointBOTH wheels on one side WILL come off the ground for rotation.....this isn't rocket science, don't make it more complicated and difficult than it really is. Be safe!
