On the 1st Gen, MINI actually made two small flaps in the body near the exhaust designed to allow some exhaust note sound into the pass compartment.....And theres two corresponding "windows" in this trim piece to pass it through from there. Hopefully insulating the lower trim on inside should stop most of that.....It was either this, or get a new JCW Exhaust system. Will try this for now, if not, will put this newish Alta System up for sale and buy the JCW set up.....What happens when you get over 55 I guess.....

FOLLOW UP AFTER SOME DRIVING: Wish I had done this YEARS ago.....I can hear the nice exhaust note, but most of it if sun roof and / or window(s) are down...Soooo much better.,,,Like being in an F56 !

Added Powerflex FCABs to the R60. This is what it looks like when you press them in backwards. Pretty easy to press out and reseat in the correct direction. The Countryman is much easier than the R56, I didn’t have to drop the subframe. Just Unbolt the carrier, the sway bar end link and the lower ball joint from the brake caliper. Really simple job.

Hadn't found the refresh kits when I did the pump, only the full units, or I would have done it while the back seat was apart.
Thanks man, my inspection expires 4/21, so we'll see how long I put this off in hopes that it goes away again. I replaced the gas cap when it threw the light the first time 4 years ago, but I'll make sure I give it a good look.

Was going to to do my fuel filter an valve cover last weekend. But could not get to it.
So today I got it done. Man was to filter nasty. Had not been changed in 16 years. Still had factory tag. There was some sediment in the bottom of the filter. Got it all cleaned out. Was not a hard job.
Did the gasket on valve cover. Thank god no busted bolts. I upgrade the bolts to allen bolts.
Then I changed the lower engine mount .
All good for my trip on Thursday.

Cleaned the R58 JCW yesterday and had a dang bird that kept coming up to the window and trying to attack my mirror. Took the AEM Intake system out and left my grille out on the scoop.

Installed the JCW Tuning kit intake and some secret ECS prototype parts to make sure we have fitment. Next the ECS CF intake will go back in.

With new batteries in both MINIs i have been putting them on battery tenders and then when needed driving them around and alternating MINIs. The factory BMW/MINI batteries have lasted the longest at of any battery i owned since owning BMWs since 1998.

Hydrodip

This was so much fun. Tried to #hydrodip some parts. It’s harder than i thought. Well, the parts I’m dipping. Especially the hood scoop. Nothing a sticker can’t fix 😅 But I’m pretty satisfied with this project.

Replaced my flares today. Went wider. Added 25mm spacers. Now on that staggered stance.

Now figuring out how to take out the old rivnuts

these are clinched new school universal flares
7cm frint and 10mm rear

Wow super wide. Looks good. The rivets, you might have to gently grind off the flange head. Then fill them, it will take some body work.

Yep, little bit of work and it will look good. I think you have one of the widest stance MINI I have seen.

What Did You Do To Your MINI Today?

Replaced all Door Speakers, under the seats Sub-woofers and installed an after market AMP on my 2017 MINI Cooper Clubman S. Took me about two weeks to figure out the ASD Wiring Diagram in order to bypass it. I look on this forum, other MINI forums, and BMW Forums and couldn't find one that was either complete or completely accurate. I had to do it the old fashion way... Connecting one wire at a time!

Thanks! I have the wiring diagram that I put together if anyone needs it. I'm pretty sure that it would work on other similar generation MINIs. For me, I'm a sound freak, so it just sounds really loud. I think that I need to tune the amp to get better quality out of it. In all, it does sound a lot better than the factory speakers, just needs a little tweaking.

Installed Godspeed Mono SS coilovers and Circuit Performance CP26 15x8 +25 wheels. Tires are Federal 595 RS Pro in 205/50/15. This is 23-3/4" from floor to arch (initial setting was 23-3/8" which rubbed a bit as these are pretty wide for 205s!)
