Its been a busy week for mine. Its been non-op for a year and a half (bought a new car, but couldn't get rid of this one). My wife sold her car, so this one got brought back to life. Raised it some ( to low to be my wife's daily driver), got new tires today, and will be putting a new stock header on tomorrow (aftermarket one too loud to be my wife's daily driver

I missed this car over the last couple years,

Nik

Since we all doing self quarantine. Decided to replace my fuel filter today. Thanks mod mini on YouTube again for the step by step.

didn’t take much. Pretty easy. Didn’t spill any fuel. That’s a bonus.

before i depressurize i checked my fuel pressure. Is this about right? Says around 51.45 psi is the norm for r53.

Since I have nothing but time now, I got around to installing a different rear spoiler. Look for the RSI C6 spoiler in the marketplace soon.

Add me to the list of "cleaned since I have time now".
Did a nice interior cleaning, then wash and wax!

Merlin the hardtop was being prepared for trade. Window stickers gone saved for later. GPS bracket gone. Concealed GPS power cord gone. Contents of secret compartment gone. Merlin Too is aboard the auto carrier Tiger, and is approaching the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, due to dock in Baltimore at midnight. Special arrangements still need to be made with the bank to retrieve the title. Just an unfortunate Corona inconvenience. Right now it’s unknown if the deal can be completed...dock workers, unboarding checks/prep, ground transportation, is the dealership staffed...who knows?

Changed the oil. Whoever decided to put the oil filter there on the N14 should be shot, repeatedly! It made an unholy mess underneath the car. I will most likely be having a shop do the oil changes on this car from now on.

Yeah, definitely a poor location. Always loosen the filter housing a few turns before draining the oil to help it drain before you have to pull it. You can also use a rag or two to help catch the mess when you pull it out.

Headers

Quarantine life. Been doing every single maintenance i can think of. Replaced the crankshaft o ring then realized i got the old o ring lol smh.

moved on to the headers today.
still debating on doing supercharger oil service. Might just do the PTO side since that’s accessible whilst the sc is still mounted.
any tips on draining SC oil besides syringe ?

Oh, it is the worst! N18 is the same. I may change my oil 4 or 5 times a year because of the track events I do with the car.

Doggy pee pad slid under the oil filter housing and another under the car. Put the car in reverse to move the transmission shift levers out of the way.

Picked gravel and stuff out of the winter
tires that I took off 4 days ago, cleaned
the wheels and stacked them up in the
basement until late next autumn.
I’m always amazed at how there is
10x more stuff in the rear tire treads
than the front ones (same whether FWD
or RWD).
Same experience with nails.
Almost always in the back tires.

Went for a drive in the MINI with the top down yesterday. First drive this season with the temperature over 60. Last drive before the Stay at Home order was expanded to include my county in PA.

“Engaging in outside activities such as walking, running and hiking as long as you maintain social distancing” is excluded from the order. Sounds like drives in a MINI may be excluded for now. Don’t know for how long.

Yeah, we were all hunkered down today. Certainly wasn't a top down day today, like yesterday was!

Well...

HAL, my 2008 Clubman just had $5500 dollars worth of repairs. New Vacuum Pump, front main seal, pre and post O2_sensors, and a few other miscellaneous items.
