What did you do to your mini today?
Got him home tonight after a crazy six weeks (post accident). New additions:
JCW front bumper
Factory aero side skirts
de-stickered A-panel
Yellow plasma ion fogs
PIAA pure white parking lights
Europlate
New bonnet stripe
Winter wheels back on (yeah, it's only January)

It's only what 11:00 in NY?
Last I checked your local government hasn't enacted a "Bed Time" along with their horrible new gun ban.
But I bet it's coming... You know only criminals stay up past when the street lights come on.

But you practically have a new car now... Who could possibly sleep knowing that's out there waiting for you to finally drive it again?
What a group. Nice vehicular taste!
Just got Tackleberry back from having a new Way Motor Works turbo exhaust manifold installed. I do not know why BMW does not have better flowing manifolds installed from the factory. They definitely make a difference in how quickly and easily the turbo spools. The downside is, it is a rather lengthy job installing one.
And Jaguar/Land Rover is now Indian(Tata Motors).
However, I personally still call them British because of their history.

Jaguars are still manufactured in the U.K. As are MINIs, with the exception of the Countryman, which is manufactured in Austria.

My point being you could call a brand different nationalities(from its original roots) based on different factors(where it is made, origin of parent company, where the idea was born, etc.) but FOR ME PERSONALLY, I call them British because of their historical origins.

Izzy - like the stable. First Rover I've seen with a red roof.
Washed everything MINI related today - summer wheels and the Kid. Looks like it's just in time, too. Gonna get cold next week - summer rubber is no good at 20 degrees.

Albie- LOVE the photo. Very well setup.
Land Rover makes a red body/black roof Evoque. Mine was all black stock so got the color code for Land Rover's red and got the roof painted(although there's barely any roof with the pano glass roof)

^^^ Nothing like being garaged!
After getting ticketed for an overdue inspection brought him in for that, an oil change and swap on his winter wheels. Sadly, the oil change revealed a leaky water pump. I've heard of water pump issues before - just wasn't expecting it at 71K.

Anyway, Molly had a Water Pump go a year ago March, she was still under Warranty, mileage was about 48,000 if I remember right, then just last month it was a Thermostat, not fixed under Warranty, but fixed and she's doin' great!!

Recent upgrades...Redline Oil, and I have some PowerFlex Control Arm Bushings in the Boot for install by our resident Club Certified MINI Tech!!
For her ordering Anniversary next month she'll be getting Driving Lights installed.
Hey Albie, I've not posted much, was without my Laptop...but I GOT IT BACK!!

How did you know the thermostat was bad. Dummy light?
Congrats on the driving lights! I just had a new set installed due to the accident. Word of advice - keep your covers ON as much as you can. My old set were so pitted they were starting to look bad anyway. I'll post a pic later today of the difference.
Yeah, I'm out of warranty and the water pump is buried - heavy labor costs if I had to guess. The good thing is that I understand BMW has just come out with an aluminum water pump - not plastic like ours.

Luckily my Service Advisor is a personal friend, Molly got all fixed up on Christmas Eve Day!!
Have already been warned about the DL Covers, yes, they will most likely always be on, unless I'm tooling around the Forest Roads after Dark!!

I had the water pump replaced on my 2008 Mini Base last September for $1,200.00 at a local repair shop known for Mini repairs. I happy withthe job but thought it was a little expensive. I am no closer than 2 1/2 hours from Mini dealer so this was a good alternative.
