General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
Took my coworker for a quick ride in the MINI. Got her smiling and giggling by the time we had to get back to work. I think she's starting to "get" why I love my R53 so much.
I moved some of my MINI parts around the garage in an attempt to make room for the roof and doors from the Jeep when it gets a little warmer. ( Im already running around with the front half off during the day, hey its 60• in January what did you expect)
This weekend I will be digging all the Samurai parts out, pulling it out of its hole, and blocking the garage with that until it sells. Hoping to get enough to cover a new set of tires for Tiny.
Man, it looks pretty good from here... maybe a little squirrelly on the left lower part of the boot - but other than that, it looks awesome.
Thanks buddy!
What a pain in the butt. The good thing is I have a huge roll of this stuff so I can always go back and fix it. Although I don't really want to have to do that.
Installed the halo parking lights that arrived today. They go well with the Spyder/Sonar Headlights I installed earlier this week. Will post better pics later.
Nothing!!!! I'm absolutely deprived of not driving my MINI! I've seen like 150 MINIs in downtown San Fran and I waved but looked like a moron cause I'm MINI-less:-(.

Last August when I was on vacation in SF, I didn't wave but I took a picture of every MINI I saw. 9/10ths of the photos I took were of MINIs
Well I did not do this today, but I did it this week
I put on the wheels and tires
Love the wheels! Second MINI I've seen here on NAM with them and they both look super sharp. I know I won't be able to find the other one - what wheels are they?
I changed the oil today but only after stripping out the pan threads. Was able to put in a Helicoil quick fix. We'll see how it holds. Ticks me off because I've been using a torque wrench.
Replaced both rear wheel bearings. I must ask, why in the name of God did the designers pick a torx head bolt to hold the brake rotors to the hub assembly? I broke two torx 50 head bits in the process. You can't get the leverage you need with the torx head bits because they twist and break. It would have made more sense to use an allen head bolt.
It's been sitting for 4 weeks now in the garage. All polished and detailed looking better than new. Rain snow and ice here. I will not take it out in that stuff after all my work. I plan to start it today and listen to it run a while just to keep the battery up.

Thanks it was a long process to decide on the wheels and tires to give it the right look and stance. The wheels are Rotiform BLQ
