I sprayed the Rustoleum Grabber Green paint into a little container, and used a brush to paint the S green.

For the scoop, I primed it, and then sprayed it with the color-matched dark silver spray paint I have.

Lastly, added two coats of Rustoleum Clear Lacquer on top.

Albiecrazy - nice picture of the Mini's with the lighthouse background. It's great when you have a good turnout isn't it.

Installed the Ian Cull Auto-up circuit with DSC Defeat, and auto fog lights (gonna tackle the garage door opener this week). Also installed blue LED's for the courtesy lamps near the pedals and a cool white LED for the dome light.

I blatantly stole a idea from Sid, Misfitoy and added some shaped fittings to the front of my DFIC for better air control.

Thanks Sid

Installed some new LED rear fogs. These match the tailights. I will eventually wire them as auxillary brake lights.

Doesn't look bad. That is actually a good idea. I guess i would have expected they would be different widths for the bars. Good thinkin'

To quote the site .

The Baby Scoop was designed to take air from the front of the car and channel it under the M7 DFIC. This helps to bring in cool air over the top of the engine block. Anyone who's opened the hood after driving the car can tell you that this area gets pretty hot. Cooler air is constantly running through the front grilles, but with the Baby Scoop installed, the air is focused to sweep away hot air coming from the engine block (hot air that would otherwise make your intercooler's job very difficult).

Yes, I am proud of myself though

On another note, I just ordered Indi some of those roof rack mounting hole covers, seeing as the previous owner only had 1, and it was yellowed :/
Thanks for this post.
It gave me the courage to do it myself to Little Wing's side scuttles.
I did break a clip somehow on one scuttle, but it is snapped in tight without it. It's all good.
I also got silver engine paint from Auto Zone and painted my amber lights instead of buying new ones.
It worked great!
DH thinks it's hilarious and has started calling me "motor-head."
He's happy with the job I did restoring an oxidized headlight on his Avalon though.
Sure beats doing the dishes.

Now I'm trying to get up the nerve to take the yolk out of Little Wing's headlights...

It's EASY PEASY!! There's a thread on it here on the forum. I did Winnie's and it took only a few minutes. I ordered the Stealth bulbs from Bavarian Autosport, I **think* they are 1176. They would know. Then you just remove the whole headlight assembly (four screws), carefully pull it forward, pop the plug in part out of the back, unscrew the bulb, reach in with your hand through the long tube in the headlight and pop that amber lens out, (it just pops right out with two little clips, no problem) sort of roll it around until it slides under the tube and out the back, put in the new bulb, and screw the headlight assembly back on. Find that thread and go for it!!

Today I gave my MINI a good exterior scrubdown, picked up a squeeze to ride shotgun, and took her for a ride over Decker Canyon and Encinal Canyon here in Socal.

Took Bernie to Kensington Motor Cars today. She was leaking a clear, oily fluid. It was clear on the floor of the garage. I checked fluid levels, and found power steering fluid was low. I couldn't see where the fluid came from, but found some wet spots towards the back, of the engine bay. Didn't see any spray or residue anywhere in the engine bay. Hopefully it won't be another BIG repair! Had a feeling that the HOT desert weather would cause some problems!

Installed my new 3D Design carbon fiber rear diffuser. It did involve a littel bit of cutting of which they supply a template to do.

I also dressed up the side plates on the M7 C-Wing with some 3D carbon fiber look vinyl.

Yes, sir it is! More than in any other year, the smiles from the side of the road came in buckets!

This was kinda fun too.

James - nice job on the carbon fiber adds. Looks great.

Albiecrazy - it's really cool to have a long line of Mini's and people on the roadside all stop what they're doing to view them.

Hi I'm new to this forum and planning to get a Mini as it covers less space so I think best to park in office and rush areas. Give me suggestions about maintenance and fuel consumption as compared to Nissan 350z I already have.
