It/they are generic Chinese-made "crystal" (that's what the sticker on the bottom said) Bodum rip-offs that I got at the H.E.B. Plus! grocery store in Kyle, Texas. $5 each.

I installed Betty's new blackjack mirror caps, side and rearview, all by myself.
Ok so it doesn't sound like a big deal but for a girl who doesn't know how to change her own oil and was super apprehensive about hurting the car, its awesome.
And Betty looks sexy.

Asequui I see that you are in Austin, TX as well have you been out to the MINI Cooper car club of Austin? BTW, I know what you mean... I am dying to black out my head/tail light rings but I am scared if I get them off, I won't be able to put them back on!

LOL! I'm right there with you! But hubby taught me how to change my oil already on my last car

I replaced the stock amber side markers with clear ones Monday, and he was in the garage snappin' pics of me on his phone cuz he was just so impressed with how I was able to snap off the scuttles and do it myself! He was also proud of the fact that I put on my own rear badge myself lol
Yes, I am proud of myself though

On another note, I just ordered Indi some of those roof rack mounting hole covers, seeing as the previous owner only had 1, and it was yellowed :/

I kissed her for getting me to work successfully today, after she stalled out at a stop sign during last night's commute. Had Dr. appointment Monday!

she'd been threatening to stall over the last several months at the very SAME stop sign, then she'd be fine for a while. Last night she decided I wasn't listening to her, so she stalled, effectively getting me to call the dealership! thank God for warranties...

Inkspot, drsimmons and Giggles - sounds unanimous! I do like them better as is. Problem is ever since powder coating my winter wheels black, I just like black wheels more. I honestly don't see these wheels making it to next summer - may be looking into those Enkei's that Giggles has.

Nope. Getting some help from MiniBee aka Jack Rowland on fb. He believes its a low fuel issue. I don't think its the fuel pump, as problems with that generally happen at highway speeds. Mini is at idle, at which there is the least fuel flow. Husband thinks its something electronic, maybe a sensor. It's so weird, because when I very occassionally take an alternate route it doesn't happen. Could be coincidence. Doesn't happen in the morning when I first drive her.

Taking her in to Mini on Monday when Mini Tech Assistance will be available. Will keep you posted!

I do like the look of them, Albie, but I'll be honest with you, the spokes extend slightly out from the edge of the tire and I've scuffed them while parallell parking. the first time I totally replaced with a new rim. Second time I used a sharpie to hide the small curb rash and it worked fine. Now I'm uber careful when parking.

Fuel pump (HPFP), usually causes hard starts so I'm with you, don't think it's that. Very possibly a sensor. Could also be a bad injector but then again, you'd probably get a CEL due to misfire so probably not that either. Could be something as simple as some bad gas. This is called ruling out the obvious. LOL.
Good luck with it and let us know.

Today, the following was installed: NM Engineering 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar, NM Engineering Adjustable Sway Bar Links, NM Engineering Torque Arm Bushings, NM Engineering Titanium Turbo Heat Shield, Helix Lower Control Arms, and H&R Sport Springs.

Regardless of what some say about the ride you get with the H&R Springs with the OEM shocks, I found that it rides fairly nicely. It drives really well now. It feels like it is hugging the road.

Tomorrow, the M7Tuning carbon fiber C-Wing arrives. Tuesday, the 3D Design carbon fiber diffuser will arrive. Pics will follow each addition.
