Used Pre-wow to remove wax from my black trim. Planning to use some black wow when the car is clean to really wake up the plastic trim.

Took him for a spin to see my friends at Mini of Pensacola, went to breakfast, and bought and installed a ScanGauge II for him. He's a happy now.

Glad you had success with that wax removing product. There is another
fix that might save you some $ and you probably have some in your kitchen.
I remember someone posting on "Road fly" (330i forum) that peanut butter
works. I thought it was a joke. Tried a small amount on a black trim spot that
I smudged with wax. It worked beautifully!

Took Mighty Mouse for a drive down Highway 12 yesterday to Cape Hatteras, NC. Snapped a couple of pictures.

Installed one of those really-good, made in the UK, rear bumper top surface protectors that Bavarian Auto sells. With that, and a PoochStyles blankie-liner that I ordered back in March, we should be equipped to give our GSDs the ride of their lives! Well...one at a time, anyhow!

thanks. Should be no problem getting it all back in. The only thing that's going to be a PITA here is lining up the transmission but I cleared a lot of parts out of the way ahead of time to give me an advantage. This is how it looks now with the transmission and subframe out. Clutch should arrive today and tonight marks the beginning of putting it all back together.

While waiting on the clutch, I started installing my SS brake lines and coilovers. Got the rears done. Once the front end is back on, the rest of the coilovers and SS brake lines are next. Also drilled a hole on top of the rear strut tower to install the damper extensions so I can adjust the sensitivity without having to drop the rear coilovers.

Here 'tis...I saw it (on here, I think?) earlier this year, I liked that it was screw-attached (along with sticky tape) and covered more area than the one MINIUSA sells.

I'm still recovering from the shock, but this is what I did TO my MINI today (every roof-mounted biker's worst nightmare).

I've been mountain biking for years and never imagined I'd do this, but on a post-ride high, I was too eager to pull into my garage (while jamming to OAR's "It was a crazy game of poker") and ran my bike into my roof's overhang. Bike has minimal damage, and that's because the crossbar feet popped out dragged alongside my roof, while my Thule bike tray buckled and gouged/dented my rear roof near the hatch.

The white stuff is paint/wood from my house that snowed down on my roof and through my open sunroof...YES, I had my sunroof open ,with my bike nearly two feet away and I still forgot.

Here's to hoping a competent PDR, touch-up paint and buffer will save the day.

And I thought I had a bad day today when a stone thrown by the lawnmower hit my passenger door leaving a ding and paint chip.
I am so sorry. Your day seems to have been worse.

A bad day indeed! I make a conscious effort to close my MINI in the garage when I'm lawn mowing for that very reason.

Sorry to hear that.

Hey Mojo
How is the ride with the JCW suspension? Been thinking of a change but don't want it to be too lowered. Moving to Denver in a month and I would not enjoy plowing the snow for the city.....

The ride is a bit stiffer than the "sport" suspension it came with, worth the trade for handling at that point. The drop is pretty suttle, about 1/2 inch. Never really had trouble bottoming out.

I am looking to go with coilovers this summer, though. I'd sell the JCW springs/shocks, but they've had a long and tiring life.

I'm really sorry to hear your story. I've never looked into a roof rack because I know for sure I'd do this. I hope it's all cosmetic and doesn't cost much to fix, car and bike both. You have my sympathy.

"Sunny" has over 47k miles and it was time for some updating. Last month's PA state inspection showed the front brakes were about due for replacement. So last weekend I started changing out parts and, hopefully, improving my ride. I installed/replaced the following:

1. Mini Turbo Oil Line Heat Shield
2. Helix FMIC
3. NM Engineering Torque Arm Insert
4. Koni FSD Shocks & Struts
5. Front Brakes, EBC Red Pads w/ Zimmerman Rotors & pad sensor
6. Rotate Tires

Got finished this evening, brake pedal pumped up fine. Took "Sunny" for test ride, got a front driving light out, everything else is good. Drives fine but I will be making an appointment for a front end alignment.

I was driving my '96 Explorer w/ 170k miles while "Sunny" was down. Boy am I ready to have my favorite ride back!

New black stripes arrived late last week so I installed it after my car went off the jack stands this weekend. Also removed the black plasti dip from my headlight rings and removed the black vinyl on my driving lights. Embracing the chrome...
