Cleaned and painted my calipers.

Not today but a couple of days ago, what I did IN my Mini.
http://youtu.be/p-GpvkRmxfI
Road between Garmisch and Oberammergau Germany up hill, stuck like gorilla glue. Parts of the road had a speed limit of 100kph, I think I hit it a couple of times but there is no way I would have done it at 100kph the entire way without a bit of practice.

Just washed her, now she's smiling. Getting ready to vacuum inside, then go to Advance Auto to get some good scratch fix, to somehow make the "F" someone tried to carve into her (see earlier posts about this) so upset

Ok, so got some Maguiers Scratch X2, applied it, and most of the "F" disappeared , the rest of it obviously cut through the clear coat, but MUCH less noticeable now

Thank you so much to those of you who offered sympathy and advice

What is it about the MINI, that makes us love them MORE than any other car we've owned?!

Installed new Tarox brake discs for the JCW brake system, with Tarox pads.
Installed new (second hand) S-spokes too, the old ones where pretty damaged unfortunately.

Now I want the Nitto Neo Gen tires, but they aren't sold in Europe. No US shop will send them over either. So I'll just have to do with Falken ZIEX 912's I guess. Will probably buy them online tomorrow or this week anyway.

I let my friend drive it around so he could decide if he was going to give up his '04 and get an '11. Then we went and let Boy Scouts wash them. That was interesting.

Yeah, but they never seem to cut the porterhouses thick enough.

I like 'em 2-3" thick....

Changed the air filter, which is a good thing: the filter that was in there was not OEM, and was the wrong size!

Make sure you reset your computer. If you don't you will have the feeling of lost power.

Drove it to several High School graduation parties. One great day! Seeing all these great young kids starting out on the next phase of life

It's still a damn fine country and there are some really great young people out there.

That's the first thing I did after install. After about 50 miles of test driving (woohoo!), I flashed my ECU with my AP to stage 1 w/ FMIC. Been working great all weekend!

Worked on the car yesterday at a BBQ/Install meet with some friends.

Plasti-dipped the headlight rings, the 2-piece chrome trim piece around the front grill and the hoodscoop.

Did the scuttles as well as sprayed the orange bulb with some plast-dip to get rid of that reflective orange. The bulb still flashes like normal.

Also debadged the Cooper S and plasti-dipped the hatch handle.

It's actually not that bad. Just figure out how to take the parts off is the hardest part. Hatch handle is easy (4 screws). Top and bottom grill is fairly straight forward. Some screws and a few clips. The two headlight rings are held in by approx. 6 clips. These i found are best if you push the clips out using your thumb. The scoop is probably the hardest to take out. There is one plastic screw you need to take out first. Then I would suggest putting some kind of catch underneath the hood. Close the hood and latch. Now you just pull the scoop up with some force and it should pop out. I broke a slight tab on one of the pins that hold it down, but it did not affect me putting it back in place.

Took it to the dealer to get a broken door lock button fixed on the door that had a bunch of mysterious things happen to it between the factory and the dealership that no one seems to be able to explain. Oh well...it's all good.. everything got fixed and taken care of.
