In The Path of Ike

Is anybody in the path of Ike?
Time to hunker down, and owners protect your minis!

Keeping fingers crossed for you and everyone else as Ike approaches. Hope he loses some steam before he hits.

Many are evacuating...they are all up here!!!!! We expect nothing but a good soaking...I fear those on the coast will get a bad soaking.

We evacuated to my brother's house in Spring. They were kind enough to make room in the garage for my MINI.

My sister-in-law hates her car, so she's leaving it in the driveway in hopes that a tree falls on it.

As a former resident of Clear Lake, I hope all make it out OK. My prayers are with all in the Gulf Coast.

Hope all our Texan friends got through IKE with little or, better yet, no damage. Keeping fingers crossed.

We lost our fence and the yard is covered in tree branches. That was pretty much the extent of the damage. The MINI survived unharmed, other than some wet dog prints on the seat. We were lucky, though. I know someone who used to have a beach house on Bolivar Peninsula.

I have NOTHING to complain about, comparitively, but the remnants of Ike swept north, even into central New York state last night. It was really a crazy night; tons of wind, rain and lightning. This morning, we saw the results from the storm: downed tree limbs, thousands and thousands of leaves, and even entire trees. Power lines were knocked down, so therefore, lots of power outages around here. (Don't worry, my MINI was fine, tucked away safely in my garage).

But again, in the big scheme of things, I have nothing to complain about. Hope everyone on the coast is going to be alright.
