Got mine from Todd today also. Took a little over 2 weeks; no big deal, good things come to those that wait.

Maybe if people in this thread bitched and whined a little less karma would send them their badges sooner...

Yep 5 months. I had no reason to complain.

Disclaimer.... Todd was not the vendor to do this.

I should have alot of good karma coming my way. I saved cars in a parking lot from runaway buggies.

Maybe if you actually read what we were bitching and whining about you'd see that we were talking about a different business.

Karma? Perhaps. Instant Karma? Definitely not. But today I did finally receive the badge ordered from MiniSwag. Worth neither the price nor the wait nor the aggravation.

God da** it!!! I have a long list of words I can not post on NAM but right now I am very angry!! You have to threaten this guy with things just to get you damn grill badges now?! This is ridiculous. I ordered my badges two months ago and I still haven't received them yet!

You're eye-rolling is duly noted. However, I did read the entire thread; there are 3 posts on the very first page concerning motoringbadges.com. I do realize that the negative posts for Motorswag far outweigh them.I was only posting my most recent experience (of two) with Todd's business. I have no complaints at all with him whatsoever.

What amuses/irritates me is the people that come on here every day or two and post, "Omigod, it's still not here!! I'm gonna go to his house and hunt him down to get my little magnetic discs with stickers on them because it infuriates me that they're not here yet after I've bitched on NAM for 2 weeks! " and think it's going to make a difference. It hasn't made things better with PU and it isn't with Motorswag. The only positive this thread has been going for it is catharsis.

I think the posts on the first page concerning Todd was because they were behind but he was busy and but caught up with all the orders that were behind. What makes me angry is that the guy who runs Motor Swag can send the badges to someone who ordered them after me becuase he threatened him with reporting him but he can't send me mine because I haven't said I was going to report him.

I guess the only problem that I've had with this thread is it's title. As I've said before, although both vendors have had their issues, it seems one has had the bulk of the complaints. Unfortunately, when the thread grows this big most new folks will only skim through it and draw negative conclusions about BOTH vendors.

For those of you who haven't received their badges from MINIswag, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, but I have to agree with Ash about the daily postings. I honestly feel they don't make a big difference to the status of your order. I do hope you get your badges soon.

Again with defending these guys!!! UNLESS your are ONE of these vendors, I suggest you stop defending them, PERIOD.

MY post was the first, and I had a MAJOR problems with BOTH of these vendors. BOTH customer services sucked (no reponse to emails, or emails saying woudl send out but didn't), BOTH orders took MONTHS, instead of days to get. In fact, longer than it took to build, ship and deliver my MINI for gods sake.

Lastly, the point of the post was NOT to get these guys their orders faster, it was to help other new users decide on where to place orders, preferably NOT these vendors.

Now if the VENDORS want to repond, explain themselves, or better yet, appologize and explain how they will make it better in the future, that is fine. But YOU should NOT be defendign them.

I'm merely just saying that the two seperate experiences I had doing business with him went very smoothly and with no delays.

You may or may not know that Todd from Todd's Mods is the same Todd from White Roof Radio. Looking by the date of your initial post, it seems pretty close to the time where he talked about moving into a new house. I'm guessing that badge orders took a slightly lower priority to the hassles of moving. The gall!

Oh, and I'll defend whomever I please when I feel they're being maligned. You don't issue me orders; you're not my wife.

I'm not going to quote Birdman's latest because it was already quoted above, but I don't believe that positive feedback from other members is off-topic at all. From what I've read and experienced, and maybe I just got lucky, I tend to think that service from motoringbadges is a good bit better, even if communication is still just so-so. Basically, I believe that the community needs to hear both good and bad so they know what to expect with the vendor they either ordered from, or was about to order from.

That said, I'm not affiliated with either company, but I decided to try to solve this problem by creating products for each vendor. Click the appropriate link to leave feedback and/or reviews.

MotoringBadges.com Motoring Badges
Miniswag.com Motoring Badges

Instead of leaving (or in addition to) feedback here, you can now leave it on the product itself!

Lastly, I'm sorry folks are still missing badges, but I have to agree with Ash and David that near-daily posting "It's still not here!" is not helpful at all.

I feel that this thread was effective; not always pretty, but effective.

I agree that for sake of clarity that MotoringBadges and MiniSwag could have been separate threads, but I also understand Birman's position on combining them.

It is appropriate that both sides of experience, positive and negative, be told. It is up to the reader to decide how to interpret and act on the information provided.

At the least, this thread allows us to comiserate. At best it can spur a retailer into improving a product or service. Just as importantly it can also prevent a retailer's reputation from being unfairly damaged (as I think we've seen with those who have defended both companies).

I am responsible for my purchase decisions and I wish I had looked for the thread before I placed an order. But having found the thread, it helped me decide on a course of action that resulted in my order finally being filled.

So for me it was all good, and I appreciate the passion that fired the interchange amongst all.

Is it really that hard to figure out that maybe the update posts are for our benefit? Sometimes it's nice to know that someone is getting their order if the merchant himself won't even respond to emails or phone calls.

So many freaking high horses around here.

Postiive feed back is fine, in fact I encourage it.

What I don't like are they guys defending them with statements like "he was moving into his house....".

Ahhh, we all have lots going on, that should not affect your bidness. And if it does, because your a mon/pop shop, that is fine, but you should at the very least, state on your ordering site, or emails, that it might take 4 months. In that case, nobody would say a word, either order elsewhere or just wait. But that is not the case, they say "it's on the way", and it never shows up.

I wasn't really defending him with the excuse that he moving. I was just informing him of that fact that he probably was not aware of and was a potential explanation for the tardiness of the order.

But I do agree with you that a "sitrep" email would be appropriate in that kind of instance.

Excellent point!

Exactly right. I was leery of ordering from miniswag, but looked at their website and it said "ships in 2-3 days" and I thought, "OK, the supply problem is over, they have stock on hand, this will ship in 2-3 days." It's just so bloody deceitful.

It would be nice to get some kind of a reply, moving or not. It's been three weeks.

OK, so what's the big secret about making the badges? How thick is the magnetic material? What is the process? Isn't this just a sticker on the magnet with some spray coating?

Isn't this something that we could get through a place like Zazzle? A search on that site shows a lot of round magnets.
