Just an observation, some vendors are absolutely flamed on this site when things go wrong e.g. M7, PU etc. Yet these two characters can ignore customers screw up orders and ingore e mails but still get the "give them a break" treatment. What gives

Maybe they have pictures

I have no problem waiting but it would be super nice to get some sort of notice saying that you may as well get comfy because it's gonna be a while.

Exactly. And worse, they both sent emails saying they were on the way, more than once, and again they would not show up.

rpiano,
Same thing happen to me. The badge holder showed up in a week, the badges themselves took 3 months.

That's exactly what I said in my last PM to MiniSwag (MotorSwag) six days ago, but alas, I have not received a response... The last communication I got from him was on September 7th.

I guess the next step will be to dispute the charges on my card if it goes too long. I think the limit for disputes with the CC company is 90 days.

I did that, and got nothing. But I did it again a week or 2 ago, and he replied sorry, on the way.... and sure it enough, it showed up. Put in your order #, and what you ordered and are missing.

BUT, I would NOT recommend either of these outfits, sorry. I now have all of my stuff, but it took multiple emails to both, multiple lookign up order info from old emails..... on a $7 order for heavens sake...and took 3 to 4 MONTHS to get, while I was charged for both, the day I placed the order.

We are not talking rocket science here, it's a 3" circle for god's sake, thye just print a decal, and stick in on the magnet. They should be shipping these the same day they are odered.

Both are good quality however, and that is the shame.
Birdman,
The last response I got from MiniSwag was on 9/7 saying that my badges would ship out over that next weekend (9/8-9/9). That didn't happen. Then there was the announcement from him on the vendor page on 9/21 with the following BS story...

"Hi all,

Some of you who have been waiting for your back-ordered (or delayed) badge and eyes orders have rec'd shipping notification, yet when you check the tracking number, you are told the item has not shipped.

This is because I printed a lot of postage for orders to go out , expecting the items to arrive that day so they could be re-shipped to you. There were some items that came in printed incorrectly or on the wrong vinyl. The reorders for these are now here and I'll be spending tonight and the weekend getting them out. Your postage may look pre-dated when you get your package or will have been reprinted to reflect the actual shipping date as the case may be."

Obviously that didn't happen either because I still don't have the badges.

Here's the chronology:
8/18 - placed order
8/18 - order confirmed by MiniSwag
8/19 - CC was charged
8/19 - received notice from MiniSwag that order would ship in 2-3 days
9/7 - received email from MiniSwag stating order would ship in 1-2 days (last direct communication)
9/11 - USPS records electronic shipping notice from MiniSwag
9/21 - NAM vendor announcement (see above)
As of today - Nothing

The status page on his website has shown my order as "shipped" since 9/11.

Are they members of this board? I know I've gotten the link to their site from coming here. I wonder if they'll respond to this thread.

Let me know when you do. I'm just a bit apprehensive about ordering from the vendors that are now doing badges.

If you find a post where I've flamed another vendor for similar service, then feel free to make comments like this one.

Otherwise, save the smart alec comment.

Here's a place where you can buy waterproof magnet material...

http://www.hyaz.com/index.html

I'm considering making my own.

No need to get all defensive. I was simply making a comment on the selective opinions of various vendors on this site in general.

If the cap fits..............................

It sucks that people are having problems with these vendors, but I wanted to share my experience w/ motoringbadges.com. I ordered a six-pack 9/20 and received the order this past Monday, 10/1. That's 10 days post order date, which is what the order confirmation stated. The badges are awesome, now, to order my MINI!

Again with a smart remark directed at me (second time) specifically after you say your first comment was made in general.

What gives with you ?

Seems like they're getting pretty flamed here. However, some folks, including myself with MotoringBadges, have had great experiences with these vendors.

That's assuming they know yours are late. Unfortunately, there are other variables in the process in getting those badges to you - including shipping. Compile that with the fact that several hundred orders are going out and you have yourself with a fulfilment nightmare.

Yes they are.

I've had nothing but great experiences with MotoringBadges. I think the sad thing about this thread is that, although they are not perfect, it seems MotoringBadges is getting the lumped into a category of bad service.

What is also sad is that I'm sure these companies are shipping out hundreds of orders with no online praise, but when a few get messed up the the flames get higher.

Take a pill and settle down. This was never meant as a personal attack on you and why you would think that is beyond me.
Obviously I'm not part of the inner circle on this site and therefore my opinion is not valid.
I apologize for the mis-understanding and will bid you adieu.

OK, lets CLEAR some things up here PRONTO!!

1. CR&PW&JB, I don't know who you are, or who Scouser is. BUT, I'll say there is nothing wrong with anything he posted, so you have no need to get all bunched up in the panties over it. Further, I agree with him. Some vendors get slammed for stupid things, and then I post this hear with REAL factual info, and backup (other postes seeing the same thing/results), and yet folks think we are wrong for complaining??

2. I am NOT flaming anyone or any vendor. I am simply complaining, very politely I might add, about VERY bad service I received on two badge orders, with two different vendors. And I have EVERY right to do so. I don't see EITHER of them arguing with me on this thread, do you? There's good reason for that, cause I received horrible service from them, PERIOD. I don't care WHAT the excuse is, if I order something, and get charged for it, I WANT THE PRODUCT, period. It's that simple. Again, I ordered badges BEFORE ordering my MINI. The mini was built, shipped and delivered before I received ANY of my badges. Don't ya think that is rediculous??

And if something was "backordered" or a machine was broken and they couldn't make them or something, I understand that. But in that case, I/we should receive an email explaining the problem and how long the wait might be. Instead, I recieved emails saying "Oppps, forget to ship that, will ship first thing in morning". Another month goes by, tic toc tic toc, no product. This went on 4 or 5 times. THAT is no way to run a bidness, I don't care WHAT you are selling, jelly beans, badges or rockets!

Then there are those as posted above, who have not even received them.

Nicely said Birdman. No one is flaming anyone and we're just stating facts about very poor customer service.

The thing to remember is that individuals are doing the complaining/defending. If we all behaved as a single entity then there would be some validity in calling out hypocritical behavior with respect to vendors' customer service, but the people doing the flaming of certain vendors are not the same ones defending others. I think that's why CR&PW&JB&BBQ is responding the way he is.

Now, I've only placed one order for badges with Todd (motoringbadges.com) and while delivery certainly wasn't speedy (I think it took 3-4 weeks to arrive), they did arrive and they were very high-quality. I understand everyone's frustration--I had the same reaction after a couple of weeks--and it sounds like communication isn't getting anywhere. I wish I had an explanation--but I don't. Good luck...

In fact, I was defending one vendor while pointing out the deficiencies in the other as stated in my previous post (quoted below) which you must have overlooked.

"I agree, the badges from Todd are great and he was very good at communicating, even when there was a delay. I just wish I could get that kind of service out of MiniSwag."

There's a lot to keep track of on this thread. I think did see your post; I should clarify that I had CR&PW&JB in mind when I said the individuals flaming vendors (referencing Scouser's observation of the M7 et al. situations) are not the same individuals defending others (referencing CR&PW&JB's personal observations with respect to motoringbadges.com). I did not mean to imply that the tone was less than civil in this thread.

Wow, I didn't realize that my asking for communication from a vendor was considered flaming. Well thank you for putting me in my place!

Not to jump into the fire or anything, but I think the reason CR&PW&JB took offense was that it was HIS post that was singled out and quoted. So don't quote someone's post and then act all confused when the quoted person shows up to defend their comments.

As far as the orignal issue, I ordered badges from MotorSwag and they did take awhile - I think 6 weeks or so. More recently I ordered a par of eyes and they came in about a week. I think the bottom line is that if you feel you are not being updated, then ASK for an update. ALL of our vendors are human, and busy to boot...so show a good faith effort and speak up directly to them.

Exactly. Scouser, you quoted me TWICE and then made snide comments. How could I NOT think they were directed at me ?!? Go back and read those two posts from my perspective once and see how it sounds to YOU.

As mentioned, I (and other posters here) contacted BOTH vendors, MULTIPLE times. Sometimes I received a reply, sometimes I didn't. We should NOT have to hound a vendor to receive something we paid for. Like I said, I had no problem with the wait, I had a problem with NO communication, or communication saying 4 times, "It will ship tomorrow", but it never did. I spent literally hours of my time trying to get a $7 item shipped. That is not ok.

If I were one of these vendors, I would post and apology to all who ordered and went thru this, and to all who are still waiting. And explain how I was going to fix it, or halt taking orders until I could.
