These problems don't make any sense at all. I just ordered one badge from Todds , and I will wait and see. What I do know is if it is really this bad out there from both of these vendors, than there is definately a market out there to compete with them. Someone really needs the facilities to do everything on site and not sub contract the work. If the initial investment in equipment is worth the money, why not start up a biz. I wonder how many badges are sold world wide? Frankly, I think it might only make sense to purchase badges at events. This way you dont have to deal with stock issues, just pay and take the badge right there.

What a shame these two can't seem to get it right

I might be wrong, but I think the problem is actually with just one vendor. I think there was some confusion early in the thread about which vendor was actually having issues, and MotoringBadges was mentioned by mistake. I've ordered from MotoringBadges and got great treatment from them, and I personally don't know of anyone who has had a problem with their service. I've ordered badges from about everyone who sells them(not from CooperFlags yet, but they just started selling them), and have not had any issues other than what I posted in the thread previously.

Mishka is correct. The problems with service and quality have just been with MiniSwag, AKA MotorSwag, AKA Jeff.

MotoringBadges, AKA Todd, has provided very good service and his badges are really top notch in terms of quality. Having dealt with both, MotoringBadges is the only one of the companies I would consider purchasing from again.

Darn - it's the same song as so many people here. Wish I had read this before placing my order 03/30 with MiniSwag/MotorSwag. I ordered 2 and when I look on the website, it shows they've shipped, but they haven't been received and no response to 2 emails so far.

I did order some from MotoringBadges and got them quickly and like them a lot. Just ordered "My MINI goes to 11" from someone else (can't remember who, but it went through Amazon) and I got it quickly.

I'm kinda bummed - the ones I ordered from MiniSwag were the Union Jack skull and one about (nearly) everything being bigger in Texas.

We decided to offer badges when we started hearing about issues with service and noticed there was room for improvement in quality.

We produce our badges from start to finish, in our shop. We have several orders on the board to ship, and I look forward to hearing what people think about them. If you have one or have seen one of the NAM Alliance badges, you know we are serious about Quality.

We have also introduced a boot badge holder, for single or double badge.

If you get a chance, take a look at the badge designs, and the badge holder. If you have any original design ideas, we would love to make them available to the community.

Hey Ed,

We spoke on the phone a few days ago regarding some boot stripes for my 08 cabrio. You seemed very helpful and Im sure you operation is run very well. I will definately be ordering from you soon. The lesson here is the same as it is everywhere. Its much harder to get new customers than to keep existing ones. The way to keep existing ones it make sure service is top notch. I will never order anything from miniswag based on what I have read here. Its that simple. Such a shame

I just got my boot badge holder. AWESOME!!!

The delivery was fast. The install was super easy and the product is really high quality. It even fits my regular club badge.

Great service from Cooperflags as well.

I will definitely buying badges from these guys.

I just received samples from Cooperflags for my planned Mod Squad badges. These magnetic badges are like no others.
The quality is outstanding. They're so thick I though they had sent me a stack of them (they sent two). Photos below.
In the thickness comparison photo a standard badge is on the left and the new Cooperflags badge is on the right.

Thanks Ed!

Dickdavid -- I really like that boot badge holder. Does it rub/touch the paint when you shut the boot?

Great question!! I haven't seen any scratches on my boot paint (other than the scuffing that was there from removing my badges that were actually stuck to my paint). Just to be sure, I just went out to test it a few times and didn't see that much flex. To be honest, I'm not sure the naked I would see contact in motion. I'll have to run some more scientific tests later.

I asked Ed to reserve one of the new badge holders for me so I can put it on the MINI for the show. So I'll be displaying my MOD Squad sample on it.

May I add my two cents worth of complaints about Miniswag/Motorswag and motoringbadges.com?

ordered the set of 6 from each of these vendors on 4/14/08.... Motorswag order arrived soon enough with 5 badges and a note that the 6th was backordered. upon inspection, two of the badges that did come were defective.... no indication when the backordered badge might arrive.

two emails and two phone calls later (after much effort to find a phone number for them).... I have no email replies, no returned phone calls (all I got when I called was "leave a message" - not even identifying themselves), and no correct/complete order.

after emailing motoringbadges.com TWICE when my order hadn't shown up after two weeks, I did get a reply from todd saying orders on the 14th & 15th of April had gotten messed up somehow.... (why is it always my order that gets messed up?) he offered to ship tomorrow (4/29) and not charge me the $1 shipping he charges.

GET A CLUE, PEOPLE... I'm not doing business with anybody anymore that treats customers like this.

And I'm calling VISA tomorrow to dispute my order with motorswag. Will that get their attention?

AVOID MOTORSWAG IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Heads-up to folks if you haven't seen this already--Jeff is unvendoring himself from NAM for the time being.

Some common sense prevails?

And so, Mr. Motorswag, after having read that you're so in over your head that you can't fill an order correctly, just when will all this be worked out?

No replies to my emails, no returned phone calls... I want my money back.

Order # 3823, if you think you can find it.

I'll be calling VISA tomorrow to file a dispute with them. Don't even think of trying to fight it.

and now, after reading all the good things all of you had to say about Cooper Flags, I placed an order with them via their website.

two minutes later, I get an email from them saying my order won't be filled until after 5/7/08 because they're off to some dragon thing.

I give up.

I can't get a frickin' badge for my daughter's 16th birthday on 5/8/08 to save my life. Not from motorswag, not from motoringbadges.com, and now, apparently not from Cooper Flags, either.

Don't tell me I waited too late... I placed my original orders on 4/14/08.

Is this the Twilight Zone or something?

It sounds like your best bet is with motoringbadges.com at this point.

A lot of vendors will be at MOTD, though, so you may be SOL. Maybe you could head over there and see if you can pick some up?

Sorry to hear about your streak of bad luck. CooperFlags and MotoringBadges are usually great for delivery. The Dragon is a huge event for the MINI community and a bunch of vendors are closing shop to make it out there for the weekend. What badge are you looking for? If I have a spare, I'll send it out to you.

KewlAutoArt had excellent customer service for my badge orders. Unfortunately it looks like they've shifted to using CafePress and now offer only T-shirts.

Goodwood,

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time getting a few badges.

Did you not receive the reply I sent to you 15 minutes after you sent me the following email.

CANCEL MY ORDER. IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE OUT OF THE BUSINESS OF FILLING ORDERS FOR THREE WEEKS, THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS MAKE THAT OBVIOUS ON YOUR WEBSITE. I JUST PLACED AN ORDER AND SAW NO INDICATION THAT IT WOULDN'T BE FILLED UNTIL I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM YOU AFTER MY ORDER WAS PLACED.

I WANTED THESE BADGES FOR A BIRTHDAY PRESENT ON MAY 8. IT'S OBVIOUS NOW THAT THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

My reply to you was that unfortunately we were unable to attend the Dragon and would be filling orders, and that I must have neglected to remove the auto reply after changing the message on the opening page of our website today.

If you decide that you would like your order filled, just shoot me an email.

Ed

Yes I did get it, but I ignored it until now.... I assumed it was identical to the previous 4 from your company tonight, one after each email I sent you and twice from when I placed my order.... the same one each time, telling me how busy you were getting ready for the dragon thing... obviously a form-letter sort of email.

Go ahead and ship it if you can get it here before 5/8/08.

Just installed the new Cooper Flags dual boot badge holder. What a quality piece it is! How is it possible that it took this long for someone to think of this? Now more of my magnetic badges will be liberated from the dryer door in the garage!
