I give up.

I can't get a frickin' badge for my daughter's 16th birthday on 5/8/08 to save my life. Not from motorswag, not from motoringbadges.com, and now, apparently not from Cooper Flags, either.

Don't tell me I waited too late... I placed my original orders on 4/14/08.

Is this the Twilight Zone or something?
How can you not know about MOTD? It is in your Kruttin' state!

because I've only been a MINI owner for 6 weeks. bought my daughter one for her 16th birthday (next Thursday), liked it so much I bought myself one.

been there, done that with other car clubs over the years. nothing against it, I'm sure it's loads of fun, and I might get there myself someday.

my frustration comes from what looks like a large part of MINI-ville shutting down while MOTD happens. my point is that the rest of the world goes on while some of you are having fun there... very frustrating to want/need to buy something and find you can't for a week or 10 days or more.... not at just one vendor, but the next one and the next one...

It is frustrating, but keep in mind that most of the vendors aren't staffed to any great extent. The MINI market is still very much a niche market compared to the automotive market as a whole.

That's the realization I've come to.

Nice in some ways... it's cool to be part of a small club and get together with like-minded folks, I understand and appreciate that aspect of MINI-ville.

Frustrating for a newby like me, finding all these vendor websites on NAM, specifically devoted to selling what I'm looking for, then running into what I am right now. I'm used to the efficiency of ordering from bigger internet outfits... I know they're not all perfect, but they do operate pretty smoothly, 24/7.

Just a little bit of culture shock I'm having to get used to.

On the flip side, I think you'll find you also get a lot more personal attention from many of the vendors as a result. I have had nothing but positive experiences from those I've ordered from thus far. And had prompt answers to questions.

Ordered a badge from todd at motoringbadges on 4/15. Emailed today to follow up on the order. Received a very quick response below:

Your order is on the way. Since it was a PayPal check, the order doesn't show up in our system until PayPal cleared it which was on 4/22. It was shipped out on 4/28 - a little later than normal but you should have it in hand any day now. Sorry for any additional delay but you should have it soon.

Todd

I am extremely happy with the fast reply to my email. I will post when I get it, but if it arrives as promised I can definately endorse Todd

Update on my experience ordering grill badges

Just to give credit where credit is due, I ordered 4 grill badges from Cooper Flags on Monday night... 68 hours later, Thursday afternoon, I have them in my hands.... well made, thicker than my others, and they look great.

Thanks Cooper Flags.

Cool. Which one did you get?

Maybe you can show them off on this thread:

I got my badge holder from Cooper Flags yesterday -= I"m jaZZed! Now I'm waiting for my personalized plates to arrive & I'm all set to go! For anyone waiting for their double badge holder, I believe they were at the MOTD event, so that may have delayed mailings. I'm SO pleased with the quality of this product! Thanks Cooper Flags! I'll be back for more of your quality badges.

I wish I could put one of those dual badge holders on my classic but it won't fit around the british plates. BTW, I'm never ordering anything from Motor Swag again. The two times I did order something it took more than a month to get it and they barely replied to my emails only after I complained about it.

Note to self ... order around MINI events. Fortunately, when I ordered my badges from Motoringbadges it was a 'speedy' delivery once they got my order (confirmed by email within 2 days), the whole experience took 7-10 days...not bad.

Just got my dual badge holder from Cooperflags.com. Not only did I receive it quickly, but they saved me money when they called my house to make sure I wanted to pay $15 for shipping and not $8 for just-as-fast USPS shipping when I made a mistake on the shopping cart. And the holder with the two new badges looks fantastic, to boot!

I ordered some badges form Miniswag 3 months ago & at the end I only received one. And the invoice saying the other items are back order. OK, so wait for another 2 months, still nothing. Then I email them to ask when the rest will be shipping.... Already few weeks, no reply no nothing.

I think they are not in the business anymore. So, correct me if I were wrong. But if anyone wants to order from them, just think of my case first then decide.

I think they are taking a break for a few months. It sucks that they didn't fulfill all of their orders first. It's a good thing there are other great badge vendors that have great service. I've been dealing mostly with Motoringbadges and Cooperflags with very satisfied results.

Good luck.

Yes, both are good vendors, I bought from them too.
I just consider the money I gave to motorswag was given to beggers so I feel much better.
Thank you.
