Look at my Post #587 above. I posted a picture of what the doorsills on the JCW should look like, whether you got the aero or not.

So go back and ask them for the correct parts and be done with it,this truly is not life threatning...mistakes happen

 

As others have done just get the dealer to put correct part on, as was said earlier probably the port min wage workers have a part with the kit and put it on regardless if it is wrong. Mini USA needs to send out a memo to all ports about this. Cheers

 

I just sent a email to Mini USA and will post what the response is when I receive it. I indicated the fact that cars arriving at VDC and having JCW aero kits installed are being delivered with "Old Style" door sills instead of new ones, which inturn is causeing customer dissatisfaction and additonal cost for Mini. We'll see what they say. Cheers

 

You got the ones off of the body kit AKA old style

 

Thats why I am glad here in Canada that the kits are locally installed instead of VDC's

In the states you can get it installed at the dealer's as well but it will cost you substantially more money. (At least in New York!)

 

I was quoted $2550 at VDC vs. $2795 at dealer. If I do it later at the dealer I can get a $280 club discount, which makes it cheaper.

 

That is a great deal Trip as you get to keep your original equipment as well, at least with my dealer I requested the orig. equip and was told no the port keeps it.

 

I got the factory aero and as a bonus they threw in the old sills. I look forward to hearing if mini will correct this. I'm not losing any sleep over it but it would be nice to be current.

 

Just talk to your MA and ask him to contact the product manager, if he's anything like mine it will be sorted ASAP.

Somehow I'm not surprised considering the dealer you got your JCW from.
I got my car there and beleive me when I tell you that I would never go back there. Not even for service.

 

I just got back from looking at mine at MINI of Dallas. AB/AB - it was dirty, but it looks great. Final detail on Monday after they get the strut brace on it, and I can pick it up Monday night. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be able to give a knowledgeable opinion of it since this is my 4th one (2003, 2005, 2007 MCS).

I went with the factory sport package because anything stiffer than that in Dallas is just brutal and you're just asking for suspension damage with our harsh roads. Even where they've repaved, the manhole covers are recessed, so I'm constantly dodging giant holes in and around downtown.

 

Looks like iphone prep is now available. I'll be adding that to my build.

 

My MA says no. BUT, as I mentioned above we will start getting side stickers from the port with JCW Launch Cars.

I will see what else he has to say!
