I have a valid buyer's order for which I've already paid a deposit. I don't think they can legally change any pricing on it.

If dealers are only getting one allocation/month, it should hold its value nicely.

I think I read somewhere that MINI was limiting the JCW to 8000/yr worldwide. The E46 M3 sold about 8000/yr just in the US (IIRC).

This is not good.... . Break it off an glue it back on?! I would buy the "right" one but, I'm not gonna fork over 30-40-50 bucks for a plastic badge. I was thinking about debadging the thing anyway.

I just told my MA to put the parts aside for me and then asked again when we picked up the car. I just paid for the original parts AND the new parts, so I wanted both. I didn't think they could argue with that and they didn't.

That is my thoughts too. Since mine is not in production yet, should I wait until it's on this side of the ocean? I guess I am just worrying, about the appropriate time to make the request. But, I do think the parts should be mine, and if they try to argue I will point out how other have taken their parts with them.

What old logo? Can you show us a pic of what they did and what it should be?

Sikamini... I would recommend having your dealer order the pre-painted kit for you. That one cost $2,750 including the 5 hours of labor for the dealer install and there is no mention of an exchange in the part description. My dealer reserved one from inventory when I placed my car order and had it shipped to the dealer when my car was in transit. They are supposedly on backorder now, but if your car isn't built yet, that may still work out. I don't know how this compares price-wise with port installs, but for me getting the factory applied paint was importent. Good luck!

Did you get Piano Black or something else? If the latter, maybe it only comes on the standard JCW dash trim.

Do you reckon the little checkered dash plaque is removable? I plan on putting the CF dash in but definitely want to transfer the plaque onto it if I can.

Certainly appears so. Looks like a sticky type thing. Warm it up to remove it!

You think it'll be that easy? What do reckon the best thing to use to reattach it to the CF dash would be?

I wonder if it is a "part" you can eventually order?

Personally, I think they should have done some nice brushed aluminum numbered plaques with Cooper's signature on them. That would have been cool.

You JCW dash badge is probably proudly attached to a South Hampton dockworker's '02 Cooper.
Anyone know the history of this particular badge logo?
Think Mini paid a design firm to come up with it?
Does the checkered flag indicate that the JCW will "take on" all comers?

15 hours til I can get my baby. I am in the airport in Phoenix. As I get closer, I am finally getting excited.

Tired of looking at the fuzzy camera phone pics my wife sent me. Feel like I did when I was 6 years old on Christmas Eve.
