There are only two aero Kits one is the JCW aero kit which is only available as a dealer installed option. JCW aero:

The other is the factory aero kit which is standard on the MINI JCW's in Canada but can also be ordered as a factory installed option on the cooper S and Just coopers

Factory aero kit:

Hello all - I'm going to move this thread into the proper location as the NAM uber administrators have created a factory JCW category.

Factoy is $1250 vs. about $2500 for JCW aero. The latter can be done at anytime.

They are not identical. Look closely at the builds on MINIUSA. Also, the factory does not have any carbon fiber component options.

I'm aware of that. The question was about the difference in cost. I don't think anyone assumed they're the same.

What CF bits does the JCW Aero kit have. Not the diffuser, scoop or wing...those are extra.

wow, sport mode really does turn on the burbling. Although, it is hard to hear and you really have to listen for it from the driver's seat. Also, it's been really hot here so my windows have been up and the AC has been on.

Open your window - the crack/fart/pop/burble can be heard very clearly! :-)

The JCW aero kit has no C/F parts other then the optional diffuser around the tail pipes. All the other JCW C/F options can be installed on any kit including the stock S

Other than the CF options , it's a style difference. Look closely at the difference in the rear bumber and rocker panel areas (at the door) between the factory and dealer install. If you look at Hellion's pictures look at the rear on the white MINI in his signature, that is the rear shot of the Aero option for the JCW not the factory install.

I didn't think there are any CF bits on the JCW aero. All the CF bits I've seen are dealer accessories sold separately. I'm very well aware of the differences between the aero kits. I've studied them enough to have decided I did not want to order the factory aero, and will oder the JCW aero if I can come up with the extra budget. For now I'm getting neither. I'm not that interested in the CF stuff other than maybe the diffuser if I get the JCW aero, and maybe the scoop. Definitely not the wing (personally, I really don't like it).

Thanks for the replies and for clearing it up......I guess I should have done more homework.....I am about to order the JCW replacement to our PW/S and "assumed" the 1250 upgrade was the JCW areo kit........I think I will hold off and that item for now...there are some other goodies I will put on it it's place for now and do the JCW aero kit later. Thanks again for clarifying.
