It appears that my wait has become even longer. My dealership will not release my car until the check clears. Unbelievable!

I've purchased 3 other cars without issues from other dealers but for some reason this dealer has issues with an auto draft.

Is this common practice with BMW or something?!

Yes, I believe its at the dealership or will be there shortly.

I'm trying to arrange for a Friday pick up. But, if the dealership doesn't accept my bank's check at face value, it will be little more then a 4 hour round trip to the dealership to sign some papers, do my check out drive and verify things work, sign the check and then head home without the car to wait another 5-10 days waiting for the check to clear.

God, I hope they remember not to drill any holes in the front bumper for the license plate as my state doesn't require a front plate.

You're picking up tomorrow night? Good for you. I hope everything's perfect with your car.

It's funny how the last few days make or break the whole MINI ordering experience.

Jesus I don't know if I could handle going there, driving it and then have to come home and wait for a check to clear. Seriously, I think that might be the final straw for me and I'd end up telling them to stick the car where the sun don't shine. Hope it all works out for you buddy.

Come up to Canada......

They're handing them out, I picked mine up at 3pm today in Toronto!!!!! Was told I was the first in Canada, but who knows I only did the deal on Saturday and snapped it up only I heard it was already in storage. Was a little worried about having th factory aero kit, but I think it looks great.... see here http://www.flickr.com/photos/pjappy/...7606209418356/

Called my MA to see where my JCW was. It is still at the port! Apparently has the aerokit already installed. So much for a July 14 release date.

...... but also, Whaa? By this do you mean it wasn't your custom order, and you dealership actually had an unallocated JCW delivered to them?

Yes and they still have a couple of unallocated cars left. I couldn't believe it either on Saturday, 4 days later and I've picked it up.

Every dealership is having 2 'unallocated' JCW's delivered to them as demo models. He obviously lucked out in that they were willing to sell one of theirs to him immediately.

Lots of new videos on YouTube! Just search for 'MINI John Cooper Works' and sort by date added. I'm going to try and sleep.

Just got back from my dealer here in DFW area, they have one which is up for sale Chili Red with Black roof. Car looks awesome in person. For those that ordered the cloth seat they look good and are comfortable, also the check pattern is very subdued. The exhaust note is very aggressive sounding.

Mozza, after all the angst, you had better post a picture thread, in detail!

I'm considering making a last-minute switch from PW/B with piano black and cream color line/leatherette seats to Chili Red/black with piano black/cream color line/leatherette....just not sure how well the cream works in that second scenario, but damn do those press photos make the CR look good.

Having second thoughts

I have a Chili Red/Black JCW on oder, but am having second thoughts about the color.

I'm now considering white instead of black -- along with white bonnet/trunk & red top center stripes -- since Red/White is more a traditional racing color scheme. I'm a week 32 build, so I still have time to decide. Hmm...

I was in the exact opposite boat. I started with CR/White roof with the idea of making it look like the Challenge mini. I then changed it at the last minute to CR/Blk. I even thought about Silver with white top. Good luck with your choice.
