Official Factory R56 JCW Club Thread
Wow, your MA is hooked up. Make sure you pick up some doughnuts and coffee for her when you pick up your car. Most of us are/were left in the dark
.So we're literally waiting for delivery at any moment...at least I have some time to get my paint gun rebuilt so I can finally spray my aero kit.
You're saying MINI should tool their line to create one car, and then wait a month to ramp up regular production? I don't see how that makes sense. The government wants to examine regular production models. That means the first examples get delayed at port while they are inspected and certified.
Well whats to say they could not take one of the first off the line and fly it over? I have no idea what the process is to get epa certified but what about crash certification, I am sure that gets done way in advance. Of course I am just showing my lack of knowledge around how the auto industry works, but that is how I would do it if I ruled the world

And I wouldn't want the epa probing my new ride

Oh yea and my car is still on the boat so I am just getting frustrated for you guys.
Check the thread titled Factory John Cooper Works, a dealer in R.I. got two JCW's delivered today. So maybe they are starting to roll. Mine wont be built until July 31st so I have to live thru all you who are getting early deliveries. Cheers
Guys the EPA argument is moot seeing as the VDC told my dealer today the ONLY thing holding my car up was the fact that it hadn't had it's Aero Kit installed. For some unfathomable reason I just think MINI didn't foresee people wanting their cars ASAP on or after launch date. Idiocy. Every single one of us who's car could logistically have made it to our dealers on time for July 14th should have done so. That would have just been good business practice on MINI's part. "Look everyone, it's JCW launch day and look at al these eager ecstatic customers getting their cars! GO MINI!" etc. etc.
Fat chance.
Fat chance.
Once one (or more) of you guys get yours (and I feel for ya....) could you make a point to mention if there are any dash changes (or anything else of note) when you give your much waited for reviews? I realize the performance will dominate the discussion.I'd love to hear that they had made some changes to the middle dash A?C and such controls, and went away from that tacky (IMHO) oversized plastic-y controls and stuff.
After all, these are 09's, right? Even though the factory hasn't "re-tooled".
Or do we already have good pics of that area?

Pretty sure none of that stuff has changed unless MINI is planning on supprising everyone. Plus UK reviews for the car have been done and they didn't mention anything about a changed middle dash area. Everything that is different about the car can be found in many places, motoringfile.com being one of them.
I thought *maybe* that a smaller cosmetic-only change like what I hope for wouldn't be mentioned yet or possibly be overlooked, what with all the big pavement-ripping to be reported on.

Each dealer is getting 2 JCws that we will use for demos and those are at the port as well. Just as you guys (and girls) are drooling and cursing that you have not received your cars, we are in the same situation. I promised Mozza I would not have more than 1000 miles on his car when he picked it up - want to make sure it works - yea - that's right - quality control check-up.

BTW, thanks for the information.
OK, my MA informed me that they received my car and were installing the Aero Kit. I hope your dealerships are being honest with you about the Aero Kits.
I was there when my general manager talked to MiniUSA. They told him that there were no JCW kits at any of the VDC's (these are on backorder). My GM called in a favor with another dealership that had a kit already painted CR and had it shipped directly to him.
My car is at the dealership getting it's facelift already.
Ask the question about the port install issue. Remember that our 09's are just like the 07s and 08s. There would be no issue with DOT approval. Besides, they have already had some JCW's and JCW Clubman's running around here in the states for press and MTTS. Those would not be allowed to have a tag and driven on the streets without DOT approval I am sure.
Just passing on what I have heard personally while sitting in front of them.

For those who are curious, EPA on the window sticker is 25 - 33.

Fellow JCWers
I am new to the club, but have been watching the posts for a month ever since I ordered my JCW Clubman in June.
Like you all, I am more than excited to get my hands on the car. It is a BRG JCW Club, black top, black cloth, prem, cold, sunroof, white tails, rear fog. After test driving a Clubman S, (the first mini I ever drove), I just had to have the JCW.
With a Week 31 build, I am not expecting to see my "Green Monster" until Labor Day.
I feel for everyone that has been waiting so long for their JCW's and are now expereincing the assumed EPA delay. Being one that has only been waiting for 4 weeks, I can only imagine how much you all are feeling like kids on Christmas Eve.........only to be told that Santa wont come for a week or so.
Looking forward to hearing what it drives like when you all get behind the wheel.

I think that's only if you ordered the chrome accent. I did not.
It is my understanding if you order the Aero there is no exterior chrome option available. I tried to order chrome and was told it was not available with Aero. Do not know if that also adds the chrome luggage plate.Anyone else concerned as to what Aero is going to look like on their Clubman?I am on a ship and headed to the USA. Bertha get the f*** out of the way!!!
