Exactly, and as Krut pointed out the cars tested are with the standard suspension, put the JCW suspension on there and the torque steer drastically diminishes. The overall tone of all the reviews is positive, a couple of them overwhelmingly so.

It does sound nice when its underway.

Mozza, nothing from your dealership?
Yeah I just received an email from my MA saying that it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Disappointing but what's one more day when you've already been waiting over a year eh? Anyone taking delivery today?!

One US gallon is .833 Imperial Gallon. That (40.9) translates to about 34 MPG, same as for the MCS.

When I test drove the MCS with dealer JCW, I got 34 MPG on the highway. I combined that with some city and twisties driving where I got on the throttle pretty hard here and there. My total for a 90 minute drive was just under 28 MPG. I expect that day to day I should get close to 30 MPG.

says 40 MPG (UK) <-> 33.3 MPG (US). I think the UK mile is slightly (ever so slightly) different that a US mile. (there's so many different "miles", not sure if that's what's attributable to the difference from what you thought) Edit: tho I see now it's rated @ 40.9 MPG (UK) actually, which does yield the 34 mpg US.

I keep joking I bought the MINI JCW so I could drive it like I stole it & still get 25mpg or drive it easy and get in the 30's... not really knowing how true that would be. Looks like it will be true!

I wonder what the MPG will be at the track (my M3 gets about 8-9 MPG).

The review said the JCW got 40.9, so that is about 34 assuming the mile is the same.

One of the "1st looks" linked to in this thread made an estimate ... was it 20mpg?... I'd guess lower but still probably 50% better than the M3.

I saw that and am not convinced by 20. I'm guessing it'll be more like 15 MPG.

Guilty as charged. This will be my daily driver. Lots of cars were cut from my list...Evo, Charger, new Camaro, Cayman, etc.

Sadly, you have to start factoring in not what gas costs now but what it will cost in the future I'm not rich either in the monetary sense, just check out my sig LOL.

It's going to be my daily driver and track car, so yes. If it didn't improve on my M3 gas mileage by about 50% I might have made a different decision (I want to reduce the cost of ownership from my M3).

depending on how many miles I do a year -- which has gone down a great deal as I work from home 3 days a week now, but I do make much longer trips on average when I do go into an office -- I'll be saving anywhere from $1000 - $2000 a year on gas driving mainly the JCW over any of my other vehicles.

OMG! It sounds even better than the JCW Stage I exhaust!

Pops more too.. damn I want one..

211 HP on paper.. let's see how much it is actually producing.. I bet the Clubman JCW can crack 155 mph without breaking a sweat.

I do believe the cars are underrated... but I bet they won't (hit 155). These vehicles have a 0.39 Cd, which is a serious drag (pun intended ) ... if it were able to get up there, it would probably require 90 seconds, with the last 60 seconds of it getting from 150 - 155.

But I'm quite sure their 147, 148mph is correct, given the air drag and mechanical losses. I've done a good deal of modeling of the MINI Cooper S JCW's specs in CarTest2000, using customized settings specific to the MINI. The modeling yields amazingly similar performance to what the factory says.

Heck, I've got a C43 w/a Cd of 0.32, and getting from 135 - 153mph w/the 4.3L 302 Hp engine (before the bigger engine was swapped in) seemed like a lifetime. I gave-up trying to hit the speed limiter before 155mph and backed off.

Well yeah.. considering a fully stock Cooper S R56 with let's say 185-190 real hp (they are underrated as you might know) can reach real GPS speeds of 235-237 kmh.. (listed 225 kmh -> 10-12 under the reality)

The Stage I with 17 more hp should crack a real 240 kmh..

And now this Stage II has a listed 211 hp.. which is very close to the Stage I's real output (around 205-207 hp). But then again it will be underrated and they have made the speedo bigger to 260 kmh.. listed topspeed of the Stage II is 238 kmh.. + 10-12 kmh = 250 kmh (155 mph)

.. I know it's sounds a bit silly but it could be truth

This will be one of my two daily drivers the other being a v8. But I dont even look at MPG my criteria is:

1) do I like the style of the car
2) performance
3) does it put a smile on my face to drive it

and smoke digital tire gauges are inferior to dial ones

K found out today that if you were having the JCW Aero Kit Port installed, you might have to wait a bit longer, the kits are on back order. My MA and Sales Manager were calling all over the Eastern Seaboard trying to find a kit for my car.

So check this out. After being assured yesterday that my car was scheduled to be at my dealer today I call this morning to set up my pick up time only to be told that, surprise surprise, it hasn't arrived. After 2 calls to the VDC my MA has been able to establish that despite my car having been at the VDC for an entire 2 BLOODY WEEKS NOW nobody thought it might be a good idea to install the JCW Aero Kit that I ordered. So now they're running around like blue **** flies trying to get it ready for delivery on Thursday morning so I'll be picking it up Thursday evening. Very very angry right now. There is absolutely no excuse for them not having the kit installed and the car ready to be put on a truck first thing Monday morning and I'm going to be calling the corporate office to tell them as much. Sorry just very very angry right now.

Well, not exactly. Mozza, do you mind filling in the folks here as to why we can't pick it up until Thursday night?
