Official Factory R56 JCW Club Thread
Mozza...did you see this?
Mozza:
You might want to reconsider on the JCW Alcantara Steering Wheel! The quality of the Alcantara is really bad. I currently have one on my R53 and would not recommend it to anyone. I am going with the leather instead. Just a heads up!
BTW: Planning to meet with Steve at WC, Mini next week!!

Just wanted to be sure you read this post!
Really? I went to the "Quote to Insure a Vehicle" and under model it only has the Cooper and Clubman, didnt see anything for JCW. Am I looking in the wrong place or did you call?
Okay, who's got a status on their JCW?!
I won't be able to pick mine up on Monday so I'll need to wait until the weekend following the 14th. :(
On the bright side, I'll have my Ducati back together again (from the 12k mile service) so I'll be a very happy camper.

Oh my,,,,, such a shame wanting all the hot rod features.. Now for you younger generation ppl so be it but I hope the old dogs and cats have out grown such mods.... just put a bbc in one geesh... good luck to all you Jcw folks.. I can not wait for the photos.....
I second the hope that this is a joke... Seems strange as my car is already built and either sitting at the port or in transit. What would be gained by delaying the release of the car now? Not as if the world is waiting, just a small number of MC enthusiasts.
Very true, although I can't help being paranoid that a delay would explain the fact that none of the insurance companies have the car in their systems yet. You're yanking our chains right Flaco?
So what is worse, us obsessing about cars...OR...a dude who obsesses about guys who obsess about cars.
Dude, just cause you may take it in the tail pipe doesn't mean you need to rain on our parade!

I agree in regards to the steering wheel. The alcantara steering wheel is made of really bad quality material. It got all fuzzy textured in less than 5 months and I barely drive the car and don't even do auto cross events!!
I replaced mine to full leather and its the smart choice as it still looks and feels like new.

He was just joking chill out. He's actually the owner of a sweet looking Stage 1 JCW himself and hooked me up with some cool carbon fiber parts for well below retail. He was only playing with us he's nearly as excited as we are to see this thing himself I think.
Mozza,
I see in your sig you have ione on order with the JCW Aero kit and painted arches. Did I miss something on the configurator? I know the non-jcw has body color arches, but the JCW 's were still black.
How did you option that? Did I miss something? How much does it cost?
Thanks

Something to think about, thanks!

Hey Bruce you'll be glad to know the solution to the arch and plastic trim painting is actually in Florida. Pete at www.minspeed.net sells sets of painted arches for $400 a set, he sends them to you and you send him the unpainted ones you take off your car. He'll also do all the other pieces of plastic trim on the JCW aero like the lips and bottom of the side skirts for an extra $450, same deal he buys a JCW aero, paints the plastic pieces, sends them to you and you send him back the pieces you take off your car. $850 for a totally colour coded car.
I am, Northport area... and gotta place in NYC too. I've been there more lately commuting to the NJ office now that I was asked to join a group where most members are in the Piscataway office. The stepped-up trips to NYC & NJ served as the main impetus for me getting the Mini. I didn't want to put all the miles on this, @ about double the fuel usage.

haha! You sadistic bugger! Nicely done waiting for an hour to reply too! As for getting a life, you know better than anyone that is far easier said than done.
