K, so I flew back from Vegas 2 days ago so that I could be here to get my car. Cleared everything with my upper ups that I was going to be gone for 10 days so that I could finalize some things and then drive back with some stuff.

Yesterday, find out that my company needs to have me back in Vegas asap. I rant and rave, **** and moan, pout and cuss at a Vice President. He says to me that if I don't get back to take care of my track, when I get back there on the 18th, a hostile take over of my division from another division might leave me jobless. What a crock.

Well, he calls me back and tells me that they have arranged everything for my return trip.......wait.........here it comes........Sunday! will be on the big Corporate Jet with the top 5 guys for the company, CEO, CFO, COO and a bunch of other C-something people so I should feel privledged that as a department director to be included in that group.

I am furious about this situation. I flew back just so that I could pick up my car and drive it back to Vegas. Well, my Mini sales team is working with me on this. I dropped my trade-in off today (06 MCS) and when the car gets to the dealership on Monday, they will Fed Ex my paperwork to me so that I can sign all the docs and Fed Ex them back. They will then park my car in the warehouse until I can get back to Orlando in a couple of weeks and pick her up.

I am just sick to death about this.

Hopefully the new owners pictures and impressions will get you through it.. and it's going to be just as exciting when you see your own car for the first time. I'm going to get to drive mine from the dealer to the body shop and then loose it for a week while they stripe and clear shield it, so I'll be visiting here as often as you I expect. Should we start a new thread for the new arrivals?

Doc, I noticed you have a comment in your sig about a factory vacation, according UK MINI owners the plant does not shut down for vacations. There is however a retooling and maintenance period which is usually two weeks in late July.

Well said Miss. Has anybody heard anything about taking delivery today? It's not looking good for us I don't think.

Too bad about the ELSD, and torque steer. Hopefully, they'll find a solution to make it better or at the very least, disable it so we can put in a Mech. LSD

remember that is a UK review their gallon is different than ours.

Here is another one I think this is new also. And I had not seen this video yet. Not as much gripping in this review.

I think that 40mph is based on the British Imperial Gallon which is
more that a U.S. Gallon.
It is a shame about the torque steer the reviewer found in road test car.
I trust BMW has done the research and howework well on the JCW cars and
this torque steer isn't as bad as the reviewer says. If so, BMW/MINI will
have some software upgrades for us soon. At least it should be correctable.

Didn't see a link to the video.
But here's another review and he also talks about the torque steer:

Here's a US Review from Edmunds:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do....photopanel..2.*

On torque steer - it's been my opinion the easiest way to reduce or eliminate the torque steer is to lower the suspension (H&R Springs). Having done that with my 07 MCS JCW Stage 1 - and switching to lightweight forged wheels (15 lbs) and grippy Bridgestone RE01R's has made a night and day difference in handling.

My MA drove my current MCS and said, short of an MINI MCS JCW GP, it is the best handling MINI he's ever driven. YMMV

Released today and we got reviews... Gotta love the Internet for all of us in the "immediate gratification" era... Tho I guess they are all "preview" level reviews (some correctly named that). I'm 99.9% convinced the car's power & 0-60 (or 0-62) figures are underrated. None of the tests/previews have measured values to report.

Keep it coming. In a training class today for the week and at breaks I check for updates.CAN'T wait to get my Clubman...Looks like early Aug. for me to take delivery of mine at this point.I would like to know who added Aero and the factory sports suspension.I did. I hope I made the right choice. I think I did.Anyone hear old enough to remember the phrase "run it through the Western Auto and see what falls of the shelf"? That's what I did with mine.Keep them coming!!!!Any photo's?

I couldn't help but notice how many of us are lit up as on-line this afternoon... I've got two proposals that I really need to get out this afternoon and have to admit that I'm badly distracted. So far I've resisted the temptation to call my MA though.

there seems to be two distinct types of reviews. One with more detailed driving impressions, versus reviews that give a more generic "driving" review.

It does sound nice when its underway.

Mozza, nothing from your dealership?
