Thanks!

Eh, we've got to wait until the 14th anyway so a couple of days doesn't matter.

There are worrying rumours that the JCW's will be kept at the VDC and not the dealers till July 14th so we would have to wait till they were transported to our dealers and detailed etc. before we'd get them...please god no.

Wouldn't you rather have them waiting there then at the dealership? Everyone from the lot boy on up would be able to crawl all over the car and maybe even test drive it? More chances of something happening to it sitting on a dealership parking lot then at the VDC.

That's a good point but I've had that date of July 14th in my head for so long now I don't think I could take delivery day being out back again, I just want my car already.

Just got off of the phone with 866-ASK-MINI and Rochelle (very nice girl) informed me that the cars go ON SALE on the 14th. That would lead me to beleive that they would leave the VDC before then and get to the dealership in time for dealer prep allowing aspiring motorers to pick them up on the 14th. That also confirms what my MA told me. He said that he expects the car "any day now" and will call me when it comes in. He said that he would "tell me what wall it is behind and if I happen to wander over there and look at the car, so be it!"

Anyway, there is a lot of conflicting info our there surronding the JCW. One would think that with the release, there would be more concrete information. As of now though, it sounds to me like the cars will be ready to pick up anbd motor on the 14th. If I have any more info, I will certainbly share.

Mozza, I don't think it will be July 14 + until delivery. We'll probably be able to pick up on July 14. My MA told me they can't release any car until the 14. So, i believe it will be ready for me on that day. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. It would be silly to have the JCW coming out party and not have the guest of honor .

I just checked my production status and it's already booked for a ship (Independence II how appropriate!) that arrives July 14. Looks like I'll get it a few days from then.

Quick ?, does our new JCW have a functioning hood air scoop or it is ornamental? Thanks!

One more ? What will be the standard run flat that comes with the new JCW09? Will it be the same as what comes with the MCS?

Depends on if you specifically ordered the run flat, the standard tire on the JCW is NOT runflat.

And not sure on the scoop, I imagine that it is the same as the MCS, which is really not functional though it does let some air under the bonnet. I think one of my first mods will be one of the functional scoops, like m7.

So if you go into the configurator only the crown-spoke shows run-flat, the challenge-spoke does not specifically list run-flat.

I guess I should be editing my posts instead of doing 5 different ones. I gotta get the hang of this forum thing.

That is correct, it doesn't make the distinction... there. I guess it's time for me to stop watching on the side-line about this. Folks, just because the "USA builder" omitted stating they're run-flats for the JCW shouldn't define to you -- or the many others that I see saying the same thing -- that they aren't run-flats; consider that that website can be in error. All, please do a bit more digging 1st...you'll find the correct answer.

1) http://www.motoringfile.com/2008/02/...info-released/
The high-speed tyres in 205/45 W 17 format have runflat properties, and both models [ MINI John Cooper Works and MINI John Cooper Works Clubman] are equipped with a tyre damage display function.
2) http://www.miniusa.com/#/jcw/JOHN_CO...mpare_Models-i
You don't even need to compare it to another model. Just scroll down to Safety... Note the 3rd Item:
Exclusive 17" Challenge Spokes Wheels w/Run-Flats (standard)
3) Finally, I ordered one. There is no option for non-run-flats; nothing you have to do to get equipped w/run-flats. (...the only option I remember there being for tires was for all-weather) I'm not @ home for the weekend so can't confirm, but I was sure I had a sheet from the dealer that stated the tires are run-flats too. With zero talk about the JCW coming w/a can of fix-a-flat, or a free subscription to AAA w/every purchase, plus all the other sources stating run-flats are offered, it would be a shocker if the car arrived differently.

I hope this puts an end to all the statements I've seen too many times to the effect that the JCW doesn't come w/run-flats. Sorry I used your posts Danyes as the impetus to my soapbox'ery on the subject. It's really meant for general consumption to correct a mis-conception that's becoming common-place, started by a few jumping to an incorrect conclusion and snow-balling due to omission of information in a single place, yet defined in several other places..

Made it on to the ship with about six other JCW Stage 2 MINI Cooper S's. Just a matter of weeks now.

Hey guys

If any of you are swapping your JCW side scuttles for other ones, I would be interested in purchasing them to put on my car. PM me and let me know if you are interested. I am also willing to trade for checkered mirror caps if anyone wants them.

Thanks, Nitrous

Hey All, ordered my JCW on July 3rd. Production date for mine will be July 29th. I've ordered this to be my daily driver so I won't run up the miles on my GP. 09 Jcw PW/PW
Sport suspension
Rear Fog
JCW Aero Pkg
MF 3 spoke steering wheel
10 speaker Hi-Fi

After delivery I will install JCW Shift ****, 19mm H-sport rear bar, clear bra on hood and bumper, window tint.

What makes you so sure the GP won't be the one you'll be putting all the miles on once you get the JCW?

Welcome aboard!

What did they charge you for the JCW Aero pkg?

Has anybody managed to get an insurance quote yet? None of the companies I've called, and I've called a lot, have the JCW in their database.
