Brunswick, Ga.

Apparently there not even letting the salesman drive the "Launch JCW" they received over the weekend unless they have a serious customer or someone who has already ordered one, so I'm heading up now so we can both take a drive.

Well I got a chance to drive the dealership demo vehicle and man I can't wait to get mine and some time to seriously drive it. This car is going to be a blast.

I didn't drive it long enough to post any detailed opinions, I'll save those until I get a chance to drive mine for a few days.

Here are a few BAD pics of our two new additions.

So I stopped by East Bay MINI today here in the bay area. I didn't get to drive their demo car since it was inside. I guess they had people stealing things off of the car, like the shift ****. They also have a markup of 4,000, wow. And I like how they don't call it a dealer markup they call it market adjustment haha. Looks good though. Are you guys leaving the chrome scuttle on, or swapping out for black jcw scuttles?

Those look like Candian JCW's it's funny both owners must have ordered the factory kit.

I will be taking delivery of both JCW's today. I ordered them with the factory aero instead of the JCW aero. I like the way they look, but I'm kind of wishing I would have ordered the AB with the JCW aero.

Interesting. While I took delivery of the launch edition JCW car on Saturday I still have a PW/PW Factory Aero Kit car on order for delivery in September. I wanted the OEM kit because I liked it being factory painted and the arches painted as well.

BUT, now that I am able to stare at our new mule I kind of like the contrast and the addl style of the JCW kit. Might do the same and change my mind as I have another week to modifiy the ordered car.

My thoughts exactly. I like the DS with the painted wheel arches, but think the AB would look better with the contrast of the JCW aero. Whatever????

PassatJeff,

FYI, last time I checked they did not have a JCW Aero Kit for the Clubman yet. That might make a difference for you at this time. I would check with your MA to see if there is a time line for release.

Can you buy just the side pieces of the JCW kit? I would like to use the side pieces and the front and rear AC Schnitzer kit.

I asked if I could purchase JCW aero parts piecemeal and was told no, but that was the MA. I need to really ask the parts manager.

That is also my understanding too.

Ordered the Factory Aero and like it or not that's what will be in it when it get's delivered in a few weeks. The JCW Clubman is on it's way and will be in Charleston in two days. A quick train ride to the VDC and then trucked to Charlotte. I believe I will be able to take delivery by the end of the month.
I did see a JCW hardtop with an Aero kit yesterday in Boston at the dealership. Funny, the "salesman" said that the Aero that was on the car was factory installed, but in this forum the kit installed was the dealer version.

Maybe a stiff Southampton breeze will blow off that questionable body kit?

Observation

I am in Boston for the week and have visited both MINI dealers here. They both had one red (sorry for not using the official color) and both had "JCW launch package" for $3500. This included replacing the silver side scuttles with black, JCW Strut Brace, JCW carbon inserts for steering wheel, and the dealer installed Aero kit. Speaking of the Aero kit BOTH dealers told me they were installed at the VDC and not actually at the dealer. The additions were on a dealer sticker separate from the factory sticker.

Anyone else seen this? I believe these are their allocation cars and might be configured differently that if you ordered.

The car looks like a BAMF and I was hoping to have the MA say "well since you have one on order let's take this one for a spin". No dice...

Not good news for future JCW buyers. As we were driving my JCW's home today my sales guy informed me how lucky I was since he was just informed they were putting a 5K "market adjustment" on the in stock JCW's (2 launch vehicles) he wasn't sure if this would include those who are ordering new vehicles in the future. He wasnt' very happy about the news.
