F55/F56 Week 27 build -- this is your status thread!
My was released to the carrier on 10/1 and suppose to get to the dealer on 10/5 yesterday, have not heard anything from the dealer yet. MiniUSA said that their system take 24-48 hours to update. If I don't hear from the dealer by end of the day, I will call the dealer.... It would be nice if the dealer would call me first for once.
My OL still says 10/5. MA expected car today and assured me he would call as soon as he sees it --- he hasn't called.
Maybe tomorrow. He felt pretty certain I would have my car by midweek, but not looking that way now.
No news yet, but I did not call the dealer. Still has Oct 5 on the OL. Tomorrow, I am hoping?
My dealership got several 2015 F56's in today but none of them were ours.
The service shop was working late processing F56's. I could see the lights on a 8:30pm and a few cars back there. There were three out front with the wrapping on. One had that 'new car smell' which I thought would have been long gone after sitting for 2 months. Maybe it was newer.
OL still says 6 Oct but obviously that is not right. I'm hoping ours is on the next truck.

I think you're the first '15 on here. Time for pictures!!!
Congratulations to MyOrangeOne!
Spoke to my salesman last night. He confirmed that 2015 MCS automatics haven't been released but knew no reason why. He explained for his dealership the cars usually showed up 2 days after the OL claims so 10/6 ought to arrive on Wednesday the 8th.
Someone here said it takes days to prep a car. He said it only takes a few hours which makes more sense to me. He said if mine came in on Wednesday morning I'd probably have it by late afternoon. I've never understood what could take 2 days to get a car prepped.
He also noted surprise at how MINI has handled this. They had delays in the past (though shorter) and communicated clearly (versus no communication at all).
This has really been a missed opportunity for MINI. Instead of remaining silent they could have made a thing out of it to bring together the people who are waiting. Make a t-shirt/cap/magnetic Go badge called "Jailed in 2015" or something better and treat is like it's a club. Could have been PR gold. Unfortunate.

He's here!
Drove by the lot at 10am and nothing new sitting about. 11am got an email from my MA saying my car has arrived! They are going to rush the prep and have it ready Wednesday afternoon. WooHooo!
Went to see it and just looking through the window I think I might regret the piano black dash. Dusty.

Congrats!!! I am going call and see what is up with mine
I couldn't agree more. I'm guessing someone at corp estimated less damage by just remaining silent, but for me (and I think many others), that just added to a frustrating situation. Mistakes happen, and I can forgive the delay. It's been the absolute lack of communication that has soured me on this experience.
Congratulations to MyOrangeOne!

You know....when I started this ordeal, I thought the uncertainty and lack of information would be connected with the sail across the ocean....ship could get lost, ship could sink, ship could be taken over by pirates. Turns out....that is where I had the most pin point accurate information. Who knew that once the cars washed ashore, (and got released from detainment) that they would pretty much unaccounted for as they wandered around on land.
Not for the F56S.

I just got off the phone with the Sale Manager and my car is schedule to get to the dealer sometime Friday. If the car comes in early on Friday, I can most likely pick it up on Saturday. I hope the truck comes in early on Friday morning.....
Why? I had it on my previous R56 (custom ordered) and my current F56 (found with the exact options I wanted). I love the look. Just curious what makes you "regretting it" already.
In all fairness Mini was dealing with that unpredictable entity that is the US Government (the EPA). I work for that entity and trust me, things take a lot longer than they should most of the time. So informing customers of anticipated delivery dates then having possibly weeks more of delays (even months) was maybe not a good idea. I'm glad you're getting your cars soon. Just realize who was holding up the show this time. Not Mini.
People that called were given minimal information and I'm aware of VERY few people who had any type of pro-active communication from either their dealers or MINI USA. Something as simple as, "no major changes, but we're still on target", would have been nice. Add to that the fact that the only people that are getting discounts/incentives were the ones that called directly and negotiated doesn't sit well with me.
The only thing MINI did communicate to me was Oct 1 was the target date. I had several email exchanges with many levels within MINI on that point. Guess what happened Oct 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6???? Absolutely nothing, no update, nothing to indicate they were even checking. When I finally wrote today, my MA indicated out of office today and will check tomorrow...
Congrats to those getting cars soon. Here's to hoping these will all be laughable memories once we start driving!
I expect to love the look too and thank you for your vote of confidence with it. After ordering I was a little concerned because I've read a lot of stuff saying how high maintenance it is. The only thing I was referring to is that it was really dusty as I looked at it. Aluminum (for example) or whatever the metal/plastic look is, would not show the dust. I expect to like it. My other choice would have been firework and I went back and forth a lot but settled on piano black.

I clean my interior with an interior cleaner but I come back across the Piano Black surfaces with glass cleaner -- comes out perfect. Hope you and everyone else is soon motoring! Ear to ear grinning will have you forgetting this entire delay soon.
