Coilovers...

Do we know what all is coming out for the F56? I know someone mentioned KW was working on a set, but do we have a timeline? How about BC?

I have spoken with a German MINI tuning company who have suggested to me that KW will be releasing their kits very soon!

As we know, H&R already have springs out.

I will be looking to order a set of coilovers ASAP, so I will be keeping a close eye on the market

I just got word back from BC. They plan on offering a set but haven't even started development on it yet.

Looks like KW it is.

KW have some!!!

These are the pics of the V3 prototype from German tuner Gigamot's tees car - they should be available to customers within the next 6 weeks I am told.

No dates or info on the V1 or V2 though! I was hoping to go with the 'basic' V1's, but the wait may get the better of me depending on the price of these!!

definitely not buying v3. if they release v1's with an option for camber plates I'll be all over them. Otherwise I guess I'll be riding high for a while.

Bump. I emailed KW to get an update and they claimed they don't even have a prototype, sigh. I don't know why I even try, lol.

They are very nice spring and will drop a bit.

Nothing at the moment, but when we do you will see it under announcements or just sign up your model on our site and you will be emailed.

I may have to do springs in the short-term just to get something on there. It's driving me nuts.

KW comms is VERY poor - I know more than their UK distributor, which is a touch embarrassing!

KW have coils on two cars that I know of:

1) MINI UK's JCW Concept.
2) The German MINI tuners, Gigamot who have V3's and are currently driving their car around the world.

The following part numbers are available from KW at present, with an estimated lead time of 4-6 weeks. All coilover options listed offer offer lowering FA/RA of 20mm-45mm. I can't help but think that doesn't sound particularly low???

The V1's offer height adjustment only whereas the V2 and V3 will offer height and also rebound adjustments.

The details are as follows:

For cars WITHOUT the optional EDC:

Variant 1 Inox (102200AG)

Variant 2 Inox (152200AG)

Variant 3 Inox (352200AG)

For cars WITH the optional EDC:

Variant 1 Inox (102200AH)

Variant 2 Inox (152200AH)

Variant 3 Inox (352200AH)

They're installed but it rained literally all weekend so I haven't had a chance to take pics.

The results are... underwhelming. Very little visual difference and the ride is extremely bouncy. Maybe it'll look better once some wheels are on but on the stock wheels it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Also, they may need a little time to settle to get the full 30mm drop they advertise. Who knows. An online store I have dealt with a lot who sells a TON of BC coilovers says that they are for sure making a set, he says it will be soon and he is going to try to get a timeframe from them tomorrow. I will let you know what they say.

Thanks! BC is my preferred company for coilovers. When I spoke with them (a few months ago) they wouldn't give me a time frame but hopefully your friend will have better luck.

Hoping to be able to take pictures tonight.

Jason, Would you say the bouncy ride is because the shock is underdamped for the new spring? I'm wondering if the bounciness will settle down when the new spring "sacks-out" a bit. Did you notice any improvement in the car's cornering?

Take care, Kevin
