It's hard to say, but I suspect that plays a large part. It does handle better, stiffer spring rates and a lower center of gravity, but it's nowhere near what a good set of coilovers would do. For $200 it's not bad though.
Well bad news on BC. Per a vendor for them they are currently looking for a test vehicle.... So who knows how far out they are on them now. KW might be the closest thing at this point and it sounds like no one knows when thats going to happen either. I guess good news is that they actually are going to be making some were just going to have to wait.

If you look the product only fits convertibles and coupes :(

Even though it is such a subtle drop it totally transforms the look of the car. It doesn't look like a countryman anymore, that's how it should arrive from the factory. Coming from a slammed mk6 Gti, this might be a solid little drop for everyday driving. I'm interested if it settles at all, and how the ride is after a few miles.
I agree, it doesnt look to bad, probably worth 200 bucks until the set of coilovers I want finally come out. I just need something to get me by and I think this might be it. I can see the springs settling and it maybe lowering another 1/4 inch or so.
BTW, any insight on the install, was it pretty straight farward? take any pics?

I'd happily be their test subject but I'm in SC.

Well I called KW and they had no info, they acknowledged making a kit but didnt mention anything about it being out of Germany yet. Called H&R and they said to not rule anything out at this point and to check back in the fall.
And I guess BC is still looking for a test vehicle so there ya go. Only had my car a couple weeks and Im getting antsy. almost ready to order the H&R springs but I wish I knew just how long it would be before a set of coilovers came out.

newb question here, as i had a maxima with coilovers and the ride frankly sucked...they were early attempts @ coilovers so i assume the manufacturer sucked.
is the goal of the coilover essentially to go lower than a set of springs would while at the same time keeping the same comfort of stock height...or is the harsh ride going to be there and you're doing it for a different reason?

No opinion on any of this except that say that BC Racing ("Bor-Chuann") has a very hit-and-miss reputation in the sport-compact market. They are a mass-produced Taiwanese coilover that seems to be targeted largely to the budget crowd. Do your research before making a decision.

at this point, i'm not even looking for an insane drop, but a subtle one. the H&R's might do the trick.
KW are ready to order now.
I spoke with KW in Germany today. They have confirmed this with me.
Sadly, they don't seem to have confirmed it with KW UK, so I am now painfully waiting on a price and as soon as I have one, I will be ordering!

what do you think this means for the US market? More waiting or near future availability?
Also, in regards to BC coilovers. They have gotten higher quality in the the recent years. About on par with most of the JDM coilover kits. I had them on my s2000 that I recently sold and had zero issues with them, they rode great (stiff, but were dampening adjustable) and handled at least as well as stock. I think for a daily driver car they are pretty good and they normally offer optional spring rates so you can get pretty close to a stock feel. If you are a hardcore autocrosser they are probably not for you, but then again neither are anything other than probably some KW V3's or top end bilstein coils.
Just my 2 cents for what its worth. I think I will be very happy with KW V1s if they become available soon. Does anyone know if they will be releasing a just v3's or a full range of coilovers?

Wooot
Edit: Hmm, they're not up on the site yet. Guess I'll have to email them. I'm probably going to need camber plates too.
