2019 JCS with Pro Tuning Kit ?
When Mini USA releases the rumored mid-year 2019 update (more HP, less weight) I plan to order a new JCW F56 but first a little background. I currently drive a 08 R56S with a lot of suspension and performance mods. I've enjoyed a few track days a year until the last few years. I'm not sure it will survive another track session with 140k hard miles. I'm old and looking forward to retirement in a few years so I'm now thinking about a fun ride with a warranty. My question to this group is about accessories. I was planning on ordering the car with the JCW Pro Sport Chassis and the JCW Tuning Kit. I like the idea of keeping the car fully under warranty and an exhaust with a cut-out switch sounds like fun. My question to the group is, is it worth it? Given my preference to stay under warranty, is this a fair option, or go aftermaket to get a bit of a performance boost. Will the tuning kit be worth it? I've seen posts here with results on a S but now a JCW. Thanks.

You could be right. The Mini USA site wasn't clear to me. You can pick the JCW to filter the options available and it's still listed as a viable option but maybe it's just the exhaust and not a tune.

The MCS with the JCW package has the ECU tune and the exhaust thing. The factory JCW model has a bigger turbocharger, the JCW tune, the Brembo brakes, and the body kit, and the seats if you want them. It doesn't have the exhaust. You can get the factory sport suspension no charge (mostly sway bars). The factory JCW upgrade costs like $7k. Not sure about the JCW tune/exhaust upgrade.

I had the JCW PRO Exhaust installed on our F56 JCW and the GP3. It was an 8 horsepower increase on the JCW and a nice exhaust note with lots of pops and bangs. I also had it installed on my GP3 and the exhaust note was dramatically increased. I don't have the pops and bangs of the JCW, but with the exhaust open it has a really deep, resonant and throaty sound. I can't really tell if it increased the horsepower on the GP and it really does not need more power than the factory setup. It already had more power than I could effectively put down anyway. I love both of the little beasts.
