How many miles on Delivery ?
I just picked up my new MINI on Tuesday with 14 miles on the odometer. Looks like somebody started motoring without me. Wonder if it got chosen for some extra QC at the factory ?
1. 3 months from order to delivery. Kind of got stuck in the On order. After Scheduled for production it took just over a week and then 1 month to be delivered in Michigan. So for me the F56 took 1 month longer than my R56 build. The waiting was just as bad the 2nd time around.
2. As a Bonus I noticed 2 dings/chips on my initial walk around and 1 more after I got home. 1 chip was on the side skirt of the aero kit. The other 2 in the boot area.
3. WOW....She drives like a dream.....went from R56 to F56S...very impressed !

Like it was previously mentioned having between 6-12 miles on the car when you take delivery is completely normal. This is true of ANY new car.
- The car is driven off the factory floor, possibly to another testing area (MINIs get driven straight to a rail car, I believe)
- From the rail car, they are driven to the port lot to await transport
- From the lot onto a carrier ship
- From the ship to customs lot
- From the customs lot to the VDC
- From the VDC onto a truck
- From the truck to get PDIed by the dealer
- It is then test driven as part of the PDI process
- Driven to get gas, if the dealer doesn't refuel on premises

On a US built car, 4 miles is about normal.
On an import with the QA test drive before release, then shuffling from manufacture to huge parking area, then to shipping point and loading on rail, off loading and shuffling for parking at the drop off points (port), loading on ship, off loading, parking, QA test drive at POE, loading again (car carrier), off loading at dealership, gassing the car at dealership, I'd wouldn't be surprised to see some double digit (low teens) mileage on some cars (depending on where they were parking those cars and considering the size of those storage parking lots).
I'd not sweat the fourteen miles. Yours probably got driven further out into each of the parking areas than others.

It dpends on a lot of things. When we check them in at service, they have anywhere from 2-10 miles on them. The tech has to test drive them for any abnormalities, and depending on how your dealer gases up and details the car, it could add a few miles. We did have a Paceman come in brand new off the truck from the port with 75 miles on it with a half a tank. I've even seen some Lexus come in with 1 mile on them and an Infiniti with 0 miles (trip A read .8 mi). When I bought my Evo, it had 8 miles off the truck and at delivery it had 64 miles since it was a dealer trade from across town in the DFW area. I wouldn't worry about it.
