Ivory Arrow is 3km from Baltimore. It'll be docking inside the hour, hopefully.

Tugela is through the Panama Canal!
I think one more stop and then off to Cali.
Eta changed from the 29th to the 31st though.
Hopefully my Mini doesn't get hung up at the port for too long.
My wife last night "hey where's my car babe?"

Man, you guys are super lucky! I missed both the Honor and the Asian Emperor this weekend, looks like the next ship is Galveston Highway on Friday (K-Line) or Toscana on Sunday (WW). The car has been waiting since the 17th, I didn't think they'd be held up at the port this long, have others experienced similar long waits at the port?

Mine was sitting at the port from about April 25th to when it finally made it on a ship and departed May 12th.

Wow, ok so it's all over the place. At least I know I'm not seeing something out of the ordinary! Thanks.

Wow. Ok, thanks for the input. So what was your whole timeline like from order to taking delivery? Still within the standard 6-8 week window they give? Seems like some of us have our production quicker but shipping slower and vice versa. I guess the dealers have been doing this long enough that they know what to expect.

I was told 6-8 weeks when I placed the order. I knew 6 weeks would be a stretch, but 8 weeks should be very doable. When it had missed the first vessel (of 4/24), the dealer then said that it was still within the norm of 8-10 weeks. My whole time line so far is as follow:

3/28 - Order placed
3/30 - Scheduled for production
4/10 - Production started
4/15 - Production completed
4/24 - Missed the first ship (Not sure why, as there was plenty of time to get to the port. Maybe "return to shipper" and/or the sticker issue?)
5/9 - In transit (from Belgium port, stop at Southampton, then on to CA)
5/31 - Scheduled to dock at Port Hueneme, CA
6/6 (est.) - Delivery (dealer said 4-7 days in VDC)

That would be exactly 10 weeks from order to delivery! A very long wait, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

I was also told by my dealer to expect 8 weeks but things have seemed to move along smoothly so far. My time line has been:

4/22 - Placed order
4/23 - Scheduled for production
5/6 - Production completed
5/12 - Loaded onto the Freedom
5/24 - Arrived at VDC
5/26 - Processed by VDC and released to carrier
5/29 - Current estimate of when it will arrive at the dealer
If no delays with the carrier, it will be about 5.5 weeks from order to delivery.

Got a call yesterday (5/26) from MINI dealer. Told our car is afloat and should be delivered to Brunswick GA today. Checked shipping info and ETA shows a 00:15 tomorrow (5/28 which was coincidentally ETA shown on the original shipping schedule).

Hoping our car passes QA and hits a carrier soon after landfall. Guessing it will be loaded with BMW's (and other euro-cars) being delivered to local dealers (as our MINI was the only allocation our dealer had when we ordered). So If i had to wait for a full carrier of MINIs to our dealer, it may be Fall before we see ours.

Pretty excited now. Having the garage done today (floor) and then cabinets installed tomorrow and Friday. Have some wall art (Big C7 emblem and a big MINI emblem to denote parking places ) ordered. Going to wait until we get cars in and see how everything looks before we proceed with motifs.

HOT DOG!

My Mini just hit US soil this morning. Fingers crossed it gets through the VDC quickly. My dealer mentioned that it might get expedited quickly as they usually like to get as many cars on vehicle carriers before the end of the month.

I'm one of the lucky ones as there's a VDC 1000ft from where the boat docked in Baltimore this morning, and it's only a 20 mile drive from there to the dealership.

Should be looking at only a few days til I get my car!

Excited to see Ivory Arrow is on track for docking about 7PM CST tonight. I wonder how long it takes to pass through the VDC and what the car carrier schedules are like. I imagine this weekend is probably too hopeful for picking up the MINI, but knowing some day next week I'll get to leave the office and be driving the MINI home is a happy thought.

Looks like Ivory Arrow is running behind schedule. At current course and heading, she's 8-10 hours from Brunswick. Hopefully she'll be making landfall overnight and unloading those sweet MINIs.

I wonder how long it takes to leave the VDC? The MINIs go straight to dealers from there, right? Or is there a regional distro center as well...

So I checked today on the 866-ASK-MINI telephone line and they say my MINI is in transit, but I don't think there was either a K-Line or WW ship scheduled today or yesterday, so it's a bit puzzling. WW shows 'NO RECORD FOUND' when I search my VIN... very mysterious.

Don't be shy! Stay on the line and talk to a person. The ask MINI rep will have details. Sometimes the system takes a while to update so you could be on a ship that left a bit ago.
