Yep, exactly how I figured it. I've been watching the Torino move to Sweden and dock there today, she'll head out and down to Belgium and then to Southhampton to pick up our Minis.

After crossing, she'll stop at Halifax first then NY and then Brunswick GA, dropping cars at each port.

More than likely yours will be loaded with mine for the trip over.

Hoping mine makes it through the final QA checks at Brunswick without issue and gets on a car carrier in a couple of days after arriving state-side. Have heard of holdups lasting two weeks at the VDC.

Fingers are crossed.

Will have red pin striping added over the white on the bonnet strips and the chrome cross grill piece painted red (for a more JCW exterior look Photo shopped pix included)

Love it. It's neat/interesting to me how people's tastes vary widely on what they get in their MC. I went for the DDC as well, nice choice

What's nice about the MINI is how you can configure it to suit your tastes and needs. Rarely finding two which are identical.

Yes, we test drove a Cooper w/o the DDC and although the ride was sporty yet comfortable, I'd wish it was just a touch more compliant w/ the bumps and road imperfections. Getting a 10% softer ride would make it about perfect for our needs w/ the option of stiffing it up if you choose.

We also opted for the storage package. Saw the hidden "cubby" and also the ability to fold the rear seat totally flat as well as the extra power plug in the rear boot.

Agreed. It'll be nice to have something truly unique, even if the wait is painful

Artemis Leader just cleared the last part of the Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks) and is now heading into the open waters of the Pacific en route to Port Hueneme. I watched it passing through live on the P.A.C. webcam. Here's a photo of it going through. If you're tracking your car like me and need something to do while waiting, I highly recommend watching a documentary on the Panama Canal (like this one:
). It's amazing how much traffic goes through there and the engineering involved with squeezing these massive ships through the locks, not to mention how much these companies pay for passage (sometimes as much as $250,000).

Well, the Torino is in Southampton loading cars. I should be able to enter my VIN after she sets sail to ensure my Mini is heading to its new home. Then watch it's progress as she sails across the Atlantic.

Anyone else have there cars coming state side on the Torino?

I saw that the Torino is docked too! My car is at the port, but I don't know if it will make it on the Torino, isn't it kinda first-in, first out? I guess I won't know until it sets sail (looks like 8:00pm GMT?)

I'm on the Tonsberg right now. She left Southampton for Baltimore this morning.
12 days at sea and then the lottery of how long it will stay at the Vehicle Distribution Center. Seems 1-2 weeks is the normal length of stay.

Just don't get too excited if it says it's been loaded. I've had that once only to get "Returned to Shipper' about two hours before the boat casts off.

I would say if your Mini still says 'Loaded on Vessel' an hour before the departure time, you should be set.

You can check your departure time here:
http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/Live...ned_Movements/

Just refresh it every so often. For example my boat's departure was delayed 8 hrs, so check back often. The Torino is set to depart at 10pm UK time.

Once it's loaded, you'll also get a booking number. You can enter this (at the same site you enter your VIN in the cargo ID field) to see all the other minis on your boat.

Good Luck

I would guess they fit as many as they can on the 11 football field + sized decks. Mine has been sitting at the port since 12 May. Upwards of 8K cars as I recall will fit on a ship that size. Based on ports to be visited and vehicles slated to go to those ports there is better than good chance yours will be on the ship

Not sure when we can access the cargo inventory. It may not be available until it's finalized (all car loaded and ship is ready to cast off). I keyed in my VIN and it came up as No Record Found Guess I'll have to wait until tonight to see.

We do input the VIN in the Cargo ID to see if our car is on-board?

I hope you're right, it sounds like there are a lot of us hammering that site to check up on our newborns. Here's hoping we're all on the same boat!

Bummer. I just found out that my new MINI didn't make it on the Freedom as I thought but got returned to shipper and is now going out on the Tonsberg. DirtyScarab, it looks like we both suffered from the same hold procedure and now both of our cars are on the way to Baltimore.

Anyone found a webcam that works showing the southhampton docks? All the links I've found are dead, moved, or offline.

Looks like Torino has been delayed two hours. Still nothing showing up when I check my VIN - is everyone else in the same boat?
