I finally took delivery on Friday, May 8. The timeline for mine was:
  1. Placed order on March 7.
  2. Production started on March 23.
  3. Completed on April 1.
  4. Shipped on April 7.
  5. Arrived at the PDC April 17.
  6. Delayed at the PDC for (at least) 2 work orders.
  7. Arrived at the dealer on May 6.
  8. PDI'd on May 7.
  9. Drove it home on May 8.
Item 6 was a hiccup. One of the issues was a stop-delivery due to the wrong (or an obsolete) sticker pertaining to oil(?). The other that I am aware of, was due to a spot/stain on the rear leather seat that required replacing.

Overall, I was told to expect an 8-10 week delivery time frame, and my MINI fell within that window. Even with the 2+ week delay at the PDC.

So once you get to the stage where your Mini is awaiting transportation, I assume ASK-MINI is now redundant and your next stage to track your car is to keep entering your VIN into the https://www.2wglobal.com cargo ID field?

That seems correct. My Mini finished production on 5/6 and made its way to the port on 5/8. I checked my VIN against the WW Cargo Tracking page and it shows my Mini scheduled to go out on the Freedom on 5/12 and arrive in Baltimore on 5/24. Hopefully, everything continues to progress smoothly.

Maybe they hit 2 poles since it was returned to shipper twice!

I will definitely have to inspect thoroughly when it gets here.
I read a post about crushed roofs being replaced.
That is nuts and considered structure damage.

One of those 'returned to shipper' may well be the 'wrong sticker' issue as discussed in other threads. MINI is stopping shipment on MINIs throughout their supply chain and attaching new stickers.

Darn! That sticker thing may very well be the reason why mine did not get on the 4/24 vessels even though the production had completed 10 days prior.

@kschilling, Wow, you are really lucky that your car finished production on 5/6 just in time to make the 5/12 boat. You are probably looking at a 6-week order-to-delivery time frame. Congrats!

Okay, so cars get built and loaded on railway cars for transport to Southhamption. They sit at Southhampton until they can be loaded onto a ship for the ocean voyage

Anyone know if Mini's are loaded on various departing ships based on which port these ships are bound for? Or is there another method for shipping (one ship with various stops along the Eastern seaboard, etc.)?

Just makes sense they would load Minis going to the Northeast on a ship landing at a NE port, same with mid Atlantic and SE Atlantic port bound ships.

Just curious if anyone knows the method.

Mine should be waiting for rail transport to Southhampton today.

As near as I can tell WW has two routes - the East coast - Halifax NS, New York NY, Brunswick GA, and Charleston SC - and the West Coast - Port Hueneme CA and Tacoma WA. That said, I didn't look at every ship in the fleet.

There are 6+ arrival ports in the US and WW (shipping company) has ships arriving every few days to Southhampton. They take about two weeks to cross the ocean.

Damn, ask-mini says I'm awaiting release to the carrier but I'm not showing on the WW page yet. I think I missed the boat.

I'm getting the same color scheme as you! Green/white.

I called this morning and mine has been released to shipper for transport to Southhampton.

Guess it's got to be loaded on to railway car, run 67 miles to the port, off loaded and then sit and wait for the next boat over.

I'm figuring another three weeks for it to hit Brunswick GA port. Then they add bonnet stripes and hopefully catch a car Transport to Ft. Myers Florida by mid June.

At least it's now an actual car.

A fine choice Sir!

Damn. That sucks guys that you missed it. Still not holding my breath that I'm on this boat - I've seen plenty of horror stories about cars being delayed.

UPDATE: So after a bit of digging, my Mini was the 18th car to be loaded on the boat out of 224!

Picked my 15' MC up last week...And after reading this, can confirm my vehicle does not have an "Oil Sticker" like all the other MINI's I've seen do.

1. 2/15 - Ordered MC with production week of "10".
2. 2/27 - Factory pushed order to week "12" build. Not sure why, maybe some
option I ordered wasn't available?
3. 3/11 - VIN received order changed to In Production.
4. 3/18 - Production completed.
5. 3/25 - Left factory - My car was in some quality audit for a week.
6. 4/8 - My car was in limbo waiting for a vessel for a while. Showed up
and booked.
7. 4/9 - Left Zeebrugge, Belgium.
8. 4/30 - Arrived at Port Hueneme, CA.
9. 5/2 - Discharged from vessel.
10. 5/5 - Processed at VPC and Released to Carrier.
11. 5/6 - Arrived at dealer and I picked up that afternoon.

No. They still come from both plants. UK and Netherlands.

Noo! Got the dreaded "returned to shipper" message. Looks like I'm not on the boat after all. About 25 minis didn't make it on by the looks of it. Argh! Ordering a custom car before the invention of the internet must have been WAY less stressful

Cool thanks Bud. If I'm reading it correctly, it looks like a boat (TORINO) floats out of Southhampton on 19 May and arrives Brunswick GA on 1 Jun.

Off loading, bonnet stripe application, car carrier fill-up. and drive from Brunswick to Ft. Myers Mini.

Mid Jun (in my grubby mitts) estimate seems about right.
