Just purchased a 2016 Clubman on Wednesday this week and I have a few questions. I had a 2006 VW GTI and did coding using a Vagcom software from RossTech on it along with several other cars. I used it for throttle adaptation and diagnosing issues on the from the day I purchased it new. So what I am saying is I am familiar to that type of coding but was wondering how different the coding for MINI might be? Just looking for some advice as to what I am looking at.
I recently coded my 2016 F57 (no F57 forum yet). I bought the OBD to ethernet cable on e-bay for 19.95 including shipping (it came codemycar.com, but is not shown on their website). I bought a software package from codingf10.com for 49.95 (covers all E &F- series BMW and all R and F series MINIs. The download of all the software and data files too a while. I got instructions from codingf10.com and codemycar.com and this forum. I used the tested list of safe codes from f56codinglist@gmail.com. The coding program is in English, but the codes are in German, so follow the tested list closely. I also coded my wife's BMW 328i. I hope to be able to code my convertible top to go up and down with one-touch rather than having to hold the switch the entire time. I was not able yet to find those codes if the even exist. The hardest job was finding the right spot to make changes because there are thousands of possible places, most would probably not good to change.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think this email address f56codinglist@gmail.com should be f56codelist@gmail.com
At least that's how it was posted much earlier in this thread. I just tried the first address and got it kicked back as not deliverable. Waiting for a reply to the second.
I'm a little late to the coding game and will have a lot to learn when my windows laptop and cable arrive later this week. I'll have to learn to use a windows machine first since I have been using Apple/Mac computers almost exclusively since I got rid of my Commodore 128.

so I have run into a bit of a problem. when I arrive at step 18 in the instructions, " Press "OK" to close the Settings Diaglog Window" I am not getting an "OK" button to press. check the photo and let me know what I may be able to do to fix it.
as you will see, the cut from my print screen copy includes the entire box, nothing has been left out.
You have an extra-large font size. You may need to change the font size or possibly run the program maximized [the square button in the top right corner].
To change your Windows font size, you can right-click on the desktop. Exactly what to do depends on your version of Windows.

Has anyone seen something in coding to tighten the handle feedback like as in Sport Mode as default for Mid mode? I tried Sport mode and liked the heavier handle feel. Haven't connected my laptop since a while.
font size batman holy molly.. lol. Windows scaling sucks.

Yup, that did the trick. I have a 4K screen so at 100% settings in windows 10 everything is SUPER tiny. I have it blown up to 225!!!! Anyway, I scaled it down to 125% and everything came into view.
After the recent firmware update, I got the updated esys files and then coded the IHKA part - disabled airconditioner automatically turning on with AutoClimate control. Now I can't turn off the fan as the lowest I can go is on speed 1, and when I try to turn on airconditioner it blinks. Does anyone know what this is?
I remember I had this same problem long time ago and it just went away after a while on its own. I drove more than 30 minutes today and it's still like this.
Edit: While searching for a fix for this I even found my own writing from the past. LOL. I wrote that eventually it went away on its own. I also found more search results, once you code IHKA, it needs to go through calibration process, which is keeping the AC on for about a minute while engine is idle, and then it goes away. (http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1080606)
No need to freak out that the fan doesn't turn off anymore, or the AC not working anymore after coding IHKA.
I have a 2012 Mini Cooper, with MFSW. I don't have USB or bluetooth.....So started coding recently, and after many many adjusts on Ediabas/Daten Files, I was finally able to code all modules, except the one I really want to..... typical no?
I have MFSW, and I was hoping I could code the radio to turn bluetooth ON (I dont know if my radio has bluetooth it is a Mini Boost CD, it has that telephone signal, but I never took the radio off to check if it has the bluetooth logo under....
So can anybody help me confirm if my radio has bluetooth?
I added $6ND to the VO, and after reseting 2RAD i got USB option on the radio (i dont have usb port) but no TEL option....
Can anybody access 2RAD? I can reset it, but i cant read or code the unit (always get an error "cant connect to ecu" or something like that...)
If i was able to get the TEL option, i would simply add the microphone and that would be great, since I really need bluetooth option....
Foot on brake or not, car does not start. Other functions seem to be fine, ie - lights, radio, etc etc but car does not run.
Obviously I did something wrong and I am desperately in need of help to get it back up and running and ASAP!
Being car does not start, I will need a power source to code the car while it is off, yes? Exactly what does that entail? What kind of a power source?
Please help! thanks
geesh. what the hell did I do!
**********EDIT*********** - I went back to the instructions and traced the steps in my head, I messed up on the werte values. I did not hit the lower right button to "apply changes",
I straight up missed this step.
so, how can I power the car back up via some sort of charger to do the coding when the car will not start?
also, if I go back in to this code string that I messed up, correct it (change it to what I want it to be) "apply changes" (ie - do everything right) the car should theoretically start back up, and, without my foot on the brake, yes?
PLEASE HELP!!!
thanks
I usually code with engine off. Can easily do lot of coding in 10 minutes. Safer to do with engine on but I don't want to waste gas.
After coding "no brake to start" did you try holding ignition on for couple (2-3) seconds? That was actually taktakimore time than pressing the brake and start so I went back to default back then when I tried.
If you really ran out of battery and that is the reason it doesn't start then you can use most 12v car battery charger available. Just make sure it's AGM battery compatible.
Friend you dont need the engine running to code the car...
I would test the battery voltage just in case... but I dont think it is the battery...
I asume you know how to return back to default settings, so you just need to keep pressing start to get ignition on (not the engine running) and you are good to go.
so the ecu was reset to factory and the car started right back up. then re-coded correctly and the car is running with video in motion and no seat belt garbage any more.
new to the forum and new owner of a used F56. Been reading the entire thread and still don't have the ***** to do the coding myself. Just wonder if there is anyone in San Francisco bay area can do this. I did download latest version of Esys and PSdZData 60.2 but I know I will screw something up. Any help will be appreciated. THX!

I would really encourage you to code yourself. It's really not that hard. The E-net cable hardware (ODB2 to ethernet adapter) is only $5 or so on places like ebay.
Down the road you might receive a software update from the dealer (there's one update for fixing the remote behavior for the trunk door), then you'll need to recode everything again. I think it's good to see what options there are and you might want to try one and maybe come back if you don't like it. There's also videos, I even made one on Youtube for basic coding.
Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it. I did order the cable and hoping it will arrive soon. Temping to do it myself but may have lots of questions to ask. Did anyone ever screw up the car to a point it is not drive-able? I'm thinking just to have the following done...
1. Auto unlock all door after stop (hate that unlock all door 1st before I can lock it w/ Door button)
2. Close all windows and fold mirrors (I do have power folding mirror)
3. Deactivate Fake Motor Sound
4. Enable Enhanced Bluetooth, so I can connect 2 Cell Phones (if it will allow Screen Mirroring will be even better)
5. Enable USB video Transfer and allow Video Playback when not parked (for my 5yr old)
What else can you do?? New Nav Map? Even though its a BMW, the Map looks totally different than my 750 which I love

Did receive my cable and spent almost 2 hrs just to figure out the screen resolution vs. E sys. Did anyone have any luck with the "High Resolution Fix" Box? I can never check that box!!!
Anyway, got majority of the stuff I want coded. Now I really want to activate my rear Fog Light to always ON. Did everything as instructed but no luck. Do I need a new "Light Switch"??? THX!
After this will be coding my 750i with the Auto Mirror Fold. Thank you all and the encouragement

As far as I know, High Resolution Fix is only on the paid version of ESYS Launcher, but I think if you have Windows 8/10, adjusting your screen scaling in Windows Settings should accomplish what you're after

Do you have rear fogs equipped or are you trying to add them? Two different paths. If you are trying to retrofit rear fogs, you do need to buy the right light switch module that has the rear fog button and code the new hardware into your VO.
If you have rear fogs and are just trying to have them on all the time, ignore me...I don't know how
After this will be coding my 750i with the Auto Mirror Fold. Thank you all and the encouragement
Just ordered a cable from Amazon and it should be here on Monday.
Next step(s):
Turn engine on by holding the start button without stepping on brake
Automatic engine idle-stop remember last setting
Allow fog lights on with parking lights
Allow fog lights on with high beams on
Turn on Brake Force Flashing with Hard Braking
Change Mirror Un-Fold Automatically at XX Speed
Close windows, sunroof & mirror from key fob
Tilt Passenger Mirror farther down when in reverse
Remove Legal Disclaimers
Set cell phone ringer as primary
Disable Active Sound Design
DVD-in-Motion activated
Enable the function of saving video files to NBT Hard Drive for play later
