Buildind F56 2.0 DownPipe

I have built the N14/N18 Ceramic Coated DP, but now I'm moving to the new F56 2.0 and the BMW s63 (M5 M6 X5)
The F56 DP is no joke and has many challenges compared to others. I expect really nice, top end gains and I have unique second O2 bung, that won't trip a CEL light for no cat. The Jig is coming around nicely. I should have a finished F56 DP in 2 weeks
Here are few pix and one of my R56 DP with the Extreme Ceramic coating that handles up to 2300F

Do you have a dyno chart for hp/torque vs.rpm showing the difference between before and after on your previous N14/N18 builds?
Not just the top end gains, but I'm very interested in seeing the difference across the complete rpm range.

Thank you, I gained about 20whp with my DP. Of course the more mods before (especially a Tume) you have prior to the DP, the more the HP gain will be. I used to short shift at 5200rpm because the car didn't make power after that, but now the needle races to 6500

Is the F56 downpipe as much a pain to remove as the R56 or more?

Makes me really want one, I was so unhappy with my F56 today. The throttle feels like a wet sponge, I swear I was passed by an old lady in a motorized kart. I know I'm not alone dealing with the frustration of choosing to jeopardize the warranty or spending a small fortune to get this car to perform the way it should.

Makes the projects and craftsmanship you shared here admirable. Even better if you can help MINI enthusiasts enjoy their car and perhaps turn a small profit. Let us know if you make it available, or if you work with another vendor to do so.

I totally understand what you mean about wanting more and expecting more from a car that is close to 40k out the door. I know the piggy back tune will get the F56 about 25whp and the DP around the same. These two mods will make the car dramatically different. Even though the F56 has the big 2.0L and higher compression, it has a tiny turbo compared to the N20 motor from BMW's 328i series. Even the R56 has bigger turbos, and those are considered "cute". Here is my GP2 with a tune, 91 octane and DP. The video shows me going from 40mph to 90mph. I expect the F56 to be even better

I suspect the feel you are complaining about is just the fact that we have a drive-by-wire throttle body. They all feel more or less like this. if you are coming off a cable-driven TB, you're going to dislike the feel no matter what.

Regarding the performance, 6th is a passing gear for me. What's up with your car?

It would be nice if we for sure guaranteed way to defeat the code for a missing cat. Whether that's a defouler, software, etc.

I'm hoping my unique second bung will not let the car trigger the CEL. It has worked on the M5/M6 and 6cyl turbo BMW motors

Whats the diameter of the stock pipe on the F56?
Looks quite convoluted compared to the R.
Looking for a 3" DP for the R56 if u happen to have one lying around.Haha

The turbo flange side is 4.66"

Yes, it will be kittyLess. Getting ready to do the final testing for fitment and so see if the second bung design works properly, to not trigger the cell light

Honestly this is all started as a hobby, because of my car obsession. I have learned it takes multiple people, lots of patience, lots of start up cash and willing to sell a great product, and accept it's not going to make me rich .
I sell the N14/18 ported 304 SS DP for $449 Bare and $549 for the Extreme 2300F

The F56 is a lot more in materials because of larger flanges, housing brackets and multiple hangers. I'm not a large company so I can only do around 20 at a time, mostly because of the cost out of pocket cash $7000

I'm expecting to see 20whp and a lot more top end. I'm also a Butger Tuning distributor, so add the JB stage 1 and the F56 should be around 40-50whp over stock.
