Long time first time...

My wife and I have been big fans of the Mini Cooper for years but for various reasons it was never the right time to purchase one. However fast forward to last week we placed an order for a 2015 Silver White Mini Cooper. Due to a new long commute I've been spending too much on gas. We test drove a Golf TDI but that car left us flat and uninspired. My wife mentioned that we look at Mini again but I said that for such a small car the fuel economy was not that impressive. When I said that I was unaware that the new generation sports a 1.5 triple that gets 42mpg on the highway. That's TDI territory! For me to finally pull the trigger on the mini it took better fuel economy and a slightly bigger interior for a baby seat and the occasional adult sized passenger. And it's a fun car to drive and better looking than an Abarth.

Congrats. It beats the pants off the Abarth (JLo notwithstanding). Good choice, I didn't drive the Justa but I heard it drives like the R56 MCS. Silver White was my favorite color after VO.

I will post pictures when I get delivery hopefully in late August! I bought this car more as a commuter car and will be rockin roughly 36,000 miles a year so I hope she holds up! :-). I looked at other lesser vehicles but I really like the handling and brakes this brand offers so wanted a little spice to my bland daily slog. Plus I prefer back roads to highway grid lock.

I'm trading in my 2012 Golf TDI for the MCS. The fuel mileage is great in the TDI, but it is sloooow and boring.

My husband's been driving our 2014 Hardtop for the last week to work, and says it's amazing. He can't get the smile off his face. You'll love it as a commuter car, he'll be putting on the same amount of miles a year.

I promise you, it takes the drudge out of driving that many miles! Which is great!

Congrats.

Congratulations! You're going to love your new MINI. Stay Curious is so right that "it takes the drudge out of driving". Every commute is a hoot!
