F55/F56 Week 27 build -- this is your status thread!
Engine: B46M - 2,00l (141kW)
per the BMW VIN-Decoder.
I spoke to my MA again about all this and he is either very optimistic that "this will get resolved soon" or he is stringing me along so I don't walk. It's hard to tell which. He claimed that any car company in this position would hurt the economy to a small degree so the government testing will surely be sped along. I think if it was a US company that may be more of the case but we are talking about our government who blew a billion dollars on camouflage clothing which didn't hide the soldiers.
These aren't rocket scientists or Rhode scholars, they are bureaucrats. Nothing will move on this until these big fish of little ponds say so.
I'm not being anti-government, just keeping a realistic perspective.
for those of you that have already sold your cars and are car-less because of this delay: get in touch with Mini USA and/or your dealership!!
i sent a polite email saying how we were buying a car for my wife because i don't trust the reliability of her current car which she uses all-day, everyday for her job. They were both very understanding and we will be picking up a dealer loaner car that she will drive until her Mini arrives. I didn't have to be mean or even persistent. heck, they suggested it before i did.

Which MINI did you order? My 2015 MCS is:

When the dealers run out of inventory due to this EPA fiasco, pressure will be applied. If no cars are there to sell, how do you keep a dealership open? There is no cash flow from new sales...no cars...I just can't believe the dealerships are going to take this easy....No MINI---No MONEY!!
So I just called Mini USA and found out my 2015 F56 Justa (non "S") was placed on a ship bound for California today. When I asked about the whole EPA hold thing, I was told that my car was labeled for immediate release on arrival...no hold order. Either that was a mistake, or something has been worked out, or only "S" model Mini's are effected by the EPA hold. I guess we will see.

In other words "we're not saying anything, T.S. for you". I was told to call my dealership where I get the same line. BWHAAAaaaaaaa......What a joke that is.........

But, they did say that they say reference to an EPA hold in the record, but that hold has now been released!
I'm trying to decide whether to let it go, or to email Sadir and see what he says...
I think for now I shall wait it out and then email my MA tomorrow if there's nothing definitive here or at MotoringFile.com
But this might just be a great Monday!
I called back again and was told that the test results would be completed on Monday, August 25th. IF, that's true, what's the wait for those results to be processed and the timeline till our cars are released? That's the operative question...
DD - Thats when MINI provides the test results to the EPA. The EPA Turn around time is 5-6 weeks (As I have been told by MINI USA) - I think they are telling us Oct 1st as worst case scenario, but who knows, the EPA might surprise us. You can also contact the EPA here - I would imagine if everyone pestered them it might put a fire under They're Bottoms..

I sent one, too.
well we're still disappointed that we won't have our cars for over a month, but we did pick up the courtesy loaner vehicle that our dealership provided for my wife until her car gets here. It's a 2014 MCS with an automatic and the tweed seats. So now she'll have reliable transportation for work.
I am very pleased with how Mini USA and our local dealership are dealing with this delay.

My is the only dealer in Baton Rouge, Louisanna. The only dealer for the whole state. I just check and they only have 8 on their lot of 2014 F56 so I don't know what they are going give me?

New to the forum but I have read this thead thru all 23 pages.
I ordered a 2015 Mini Cooper S Hardtop in June. It was built on 7-17 and transported to Brunswick Ga by K-Line Michigan Highway on August 7th and its now going to stay in Ga. for a while.... The MA had called and told me what he knows about the hold. the car is on hold until Oct 1st or we may get lucky and it could be released earlier. He said it was requiring the EPA testing because of the coast mode which would change the MPG. He asked about how I was set for transportation. I have several cars but the Miata that my wife drives has had defered maintenance on the timing belt so that belt could break and be a problem. I emailed the EPA so they will know that this is causing me and others problems.

I wonder if this has something to do with the different drive modes. Like maybe Mini did their testing with the cars in Green mode. I remember reading that Subaru was upset that they couldn't use the numbers that the CVT WRX could achieve in its ECO mode since the car doesn't default to it.
It seems like the issue is definitely related to gas mileage and not emissions. Hey, maybe Mini will cut us all checks to make up the difference like Kia had to do a couple years ago? It seems like the people on here that have '14s are beating the numbers printed on their stickers.

What's actually going to happen to the cars that are already built and here at the ports? Are they going to be tested or run in any way? Or re-tuned or re-flashed?
What I especially don't want is some kind of modification that negatively impacts power or drivability - even if the mpg numbers are somewhat improved.
And what's the big secret? Why doesn't Mini clearly explain what happened and what's going to be done about it?
