Hey all,
I figured to start a post here versus highjack another post. After seeing rfuller26's pic of his sweet F54 with 15mm (front) and 20mm (rear) spacers (factory 18x8's, et57) being nicely lowered I am reconsidering my options.
I was going to order the RS-DF Progressives to play it safe but the GT Beyond wheels were very tempting. I just don't want to spend a wad of cash on wheels and have fitment issues and an angry wife lol. The bottom pic is where my ride height is at present.
While have messaged rfuller26 re:this I was wondering what experiences other people have had. Considering that it will take 8-10 months for delivery waiting a bit longer to order is fine by me.
I also like this site for checking fitment: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/
Measure the clearance around your current set up, enter all the measurements for your current configuration, enter the new wheel and tire specs, and it will spit out any differences. It should get you within 5% depending on tire choice, since some tires run bigger than others.
Keep in mind that the photos you see on these sites aren't necessarily of the size/offset you need. Those photos above are clearly of wheels with a much lower offset than our cars can take. If a wheel is available with several offsets, make sure you know what the size you are actually going to buy looks like. Anything with a 50mm offset or higher is necessarily going to have a pretty flat face with little-to-no dish.

I wasn’t going to sift through 9 pages, not my purchase, but HRE makes 19x8.5 with et 47 in their flow form range, which is affordable by comparison to advan. Just as likely the deal is available elsewhere, even better if it’s in canada. For the price you have to love them anyways, and none seem to be what Masada had in mind for his look. To each their own with wheels, there’s something for everyone.

Well you both bring up some good points for sure. While I do have an idea of what style I want it is also a matter of what will look good on the car. I agree about the change in wheel face profile with a higher offset such as with my Work VS-XX that I have with the R-disc for my front wheels...much less lip than the deeper O-disk in the rear without worrying about BBK clearance.
Those HRE flowform wheels look great and all of their styles are nice. I might look into user review re: quality as they are a cheaper HRE wheel and not forged which is my preference and I think th HRE name brings an expected premium.
Cosmetically; these look great; however, do you know how much they weigh? These cars are very sensitive to wheel/tire weight ... the lighter, the better.

That RS-DF Progressive in a 19x8 is just over 18lbs. The GT Beyond closer to 19. The HRE's are in the low 20's but are nowhere near is good quality as the Advans. Considering it is about 25lbs for a stock 18x8 it would be noticeable making the change I imagine.
AFree looking for choices of wheels that meet the specs I want there aren't many choices (in a 19x8 with a higher offset which our Mini's need unfortunately).
Weds sport makes some nice light wheels. Not as light as the advan but close. Anything was lighter than oem. It wasn’t my first consideration since performance improvement was secondary for me. I was also not shopping with your budget.

Yeah Weds Sport make some nice wheels. If sizing wasn't such a pain there would be so many more options in terms of other wheel companies because there are so many nice wheels out there.
