A wheel idea for my MCS

I know a lot of people on here stick to wheels in sizes like 17 x 7's or 16 x 7's. I'm looking for something a little wider and smaller diameter to get a bit lower. Of course I'll be using coilovers for this to adjust to the right height.

I'd like to see some others on some 15 x 8's. Not really sure how this is going to turnout but we'll see. I have a set of ATS cups 15 x 8 (all around) on my mind. Offset would be 18 so I'm not sure if spacers are needed.

Here's the wheel: (I know not the greatest quality pic)

On this:

Thanks guys, opinions are welcome.

that might actually look pretty good with a slammed ride and a tad stretched
tires.

Wow suprised that I got a positive response. I guess coming from volkswagens stretch and poke is in my blood. To pull it off it would most definetly have to be slammed pretty good. Tire size is tricky as I need to have enough to fill the wheel well but not so much that I have clearance issues.

On my old Mk3 Jetta I had 17x8's with 15mm spacers in the rear and I rubbed like no other, but damn did it lookd good.

Other suggestions are welcome, I have also taken a fancy to the panasports. Those go along with my idea.

if i had a xB, i would definitely go the wide small wheel, stretched
tire look (ofcourse slammed on coilovers with high spring/damp rates).

Not a popular idea I take it.

but let us see what you got and perhaps you can create it into a
new trend for slammed MINI's with wide streched tire look. Im
sure there are many that want to see and try it.

Not that I don't enjoy performance enhancements as well, I think taking a different path will be something some may have never thought about. It's easy to pick out a decent set of 17x7's, some springs an aero grille and call it a day. I guess thats more or less the tuner or motorsport 'look' of mini. I'll try to give you guys something a little different. Euro Mini if you will.

I have purchased several sets of these for my Rabbit GTIs in the past, and I can tell you that they will certainly stick out beyond the fender on a MC. They come in 15x7 ET20 or ET28 and I believe the 15x8 only comes in ET20. More power to you if you like that look. I like flush to the fender flare, even on my MC, which the 15x7 ET20 does on the Rabbit GTI.

Also, if you do decide to go this route, I'll tell you what I told everyone on vwvortex.com: call ATS directly in Germany. I've done this every time I've bought Cups. Good luck.

There's someone around NAM who has some Smoor (Minilite style) 15x8 wheels et 20. Do a search an I'm sure you can find some pics. I just wonder what types of clearance issues you'd run into.

Some more pictures of those Smoor's...

This is from the "Show me your wheels thread"...some side shots.

Also, with such wide rims you could probably run 225/50/R15's without too much trouble...

i like your idea (and tried it myself). only problem i ran into is the offset thing. the wheels look cool but they stick out of the fenders too much. i ended up going back to 17s :(. now i'm on 16" panasport knockoffs, not exactly the look i was going for, but oh well...

What offset did you end up going with? I might go with the 15x7's and space out the rear some. Not totally sure yet. Doesn't ASA make some panasport knock off's?

Nice to see some others sharing my vision. Keskins would be nice, I wish I still had my old RH's I'd throw those on, but a little big for the mini. First up is coilovers, possibly Bilstein's.

i was getting south of 40 offset for sure.

Fwiw. i love deep dish wheels, they are my downfall. here are the type of wheels i like: http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20t...el%20Guide.htm

In any event I got the ASA's that you're talking about, not really any lip, but with the way the wheel is designed, when in motion it looks like they have a lip. hard to explain.
