Wheel help!!!!

Hello im new to NAM. I have already done some mods to my mini. However now im getting into the wheels and tires. I would really like to keep my ride practical since i drive it everyday but, i would like to make the wheels look as flush as possible without lowering my car. I am currently running stock 17x7s. So my question is what is a good size of wheel to get to acomplish this look without looking silly 17x8 perhaps? or what offset should i get ect? Also i really like BBS style mesh rims and a nice deep lip wheel but im not willing to spend over a thousand on this whats some good wheel brands besides the bank breakers?? thank you.

Do you like the stock wheels and tires you have now?

If so then you can add wheel spacers to move the wheel slightly outward so that it becomes flush.

You can also use spacers later with any wheel to move it enough to be flush so it doesn't really matter if you choose a 17x7 to 17x8 wheel. The wider the wheel the more it can weigh and the more it might cost. A wider wheel and tire might also increase the risk for rubbing.

Typically 17x7 is the most common working size wheel for the MINI, stock wheels have 48mm offset. You can add spacers but once they get too thick you will need wheel studs that are longer to work with the spacer. Stock wheel bolts are not long enough past about 3mm spacers.

Offset will vary with the width of the wheel. The wider the wheel the more likely it will stick out.
17x8 et36mm gives a backspace very close to stock, the wheel sticks out by 12mm more than stock which is about flush depending on how much camber you have. If you have more offset like 42mm then this moves the wheel more inward so less flush.

As for BBS wheels-
Show us some examples of what you like and what colors.

Sample BBS LM 17x7.5 $780 each

Tirerack doesn't show much for BBS that will fit the MINI at this time.
They do show-

Kazera KZ-J black with red stripe
18x7.5 et40 $169 each closeout, 23.4 lbs

I did not see any Rota wheels that resemble BBS
I did not find many BBS like wheels that cost less than about $500 each

Thank you for the reply. Right now i have the oem 8 spoke wheels that i dont like. however i was looking into ethier asa ar1 wheels from tire rack, or xxr 531s. I also like most bbs knock off wheels resembling the bbs rs or lm, like the drag dr44, rota mc ect.
My only problem with those was i wasn't shure if any of them would be able to fit flush, which is important to the look i was going for. Also if i went with the asa wheels or whatever and I wanted to get spacers what problems could i expect from them? No rubbing? or major effects on the wheel wear? i wont need a camber kit? Oh and as far as wheels i like i am looking for ethier silver painted, white painted, or crome, or any combination of these. Thank you for your response!!

ASA AR1 silver finish with machined lip $136 each, 17x7 et42

Rota MC is certainly an option-

http://www.fastmini.net/rotamc.html
It's available in two sizes. There's a big 18 x 8" size, and a slightly less big 17x7.5" size. Both are +45 offset. Weight is 23.2 pounds for the 18", 21.5 pounds for the 17".
$759 for 17", black and hyperblack colors.

If you are looking for flush then using any of these mentioned wheels could work but you'd need spacers to fine tune the amount to move the wheel farther outward to your specs.

For example using a 17x7 et42 silver ASA AR1 wheel as an example.
Compared to stock 17x7 et48 wheels the AR1 will fit 6mm farther outward than stock. Using stock wheels 17x7 et48mm you can get flush with a 15mm spacer as a reference.

For spacers-

If you use spacers you can use longer wheel studs, just match the thread for your year MINI. Use open ended lug nuts.

Just to throw a different style in the mix, these are my Rotiform BLQ 18x8.5 et45 wheels on my F54. I'm lowered on BC Racing BR Series Coilovers. They're wrapped with Nitto Neo Gen 235/40/18s
