EIM Warm Weather Babble
Service Work Complete
Got the MINI back from service last night:
Aux water pump recall complete.
Replaced leaking turbo oil tube, new little heat shield on the new one.
Replaced timing chain, tensioner, and all the other parts that go along with this. They think a loose timing chain could have been part of the cylinder misfire code issue. We did not notice that this was an issue, apparently the mechanic "witnessed" the loud chain when he went to start it that following morning.
Blasted carbon out of all 4 cyclinders with the walnut shell blasting contraption. They think carbon buildup could have also been part of the misfire problem. (So much for the oil catch can? Maybe this carbon was pre-oil catch can buildup? Hoping!)
New pads and sensors called for on all 4 wheels. (Juliann's driving technique?) Mileage 23k.
That is all. See you at the Skirmish!

I hope it's running as smoothly as it sounds like it should be.
Oooo...I'm guessing that remark is going to cost ya.
I think I see Bill and Alyce on either side of their Cabrio. Is that Denny and Sandy in the MINI directly astern of them?
I put the Yokohama's back on Mho before the rain hit on Saturday, so I got to have a little fun on some of the roads before they got too wet.
Was really looking forward to the Border Skirmish being my first EIM run, but my best friend is visiting from Seattle and I won't be able to make it. Look forward to the next EIM event!

Value
Very long and productive day in the garage today! A thorough wash and dry (gave the wheel wand from densan57 a good workout), vacuum the interior, engine wipe-down. Taped off all of the trim and clearbra, then polished with a round of Swirl, followed by a round of Amigo, capped off by a nice coat of Epic. Then Nero on the tires and interior. All ready to occupy Branson.
If the Caps had won their game this afternoon, it would have been an almost perfect Saturday.

Fireman Mike has the only one I know of. Linda wants one, but doesn't have it yet

(Oh, and I'd love to own one too...)
Much as I want one I think I need to let my spouse get his Roadster first
Wow! I am jealous. That's my dream MINI! When can we see it?????? When will you pick it up, and where?
It will be at the dealer (KC) sometime in June. We are having a second baby in October, so I needed to go from the 3 doors on the Clubman, to 4 doors on the Countryman. I had to stick with MINI. Im also upgrading to the "S" this time, so it will be quite the change form what Im used to.
